JW's Unanswerable Question & Why Doesn't Everyone Take Them to Task For This?

The one question that is absolutely unanswerable by Jehovah's Witnesses that actually understand their own doctrines is this:

Can you show me even ONE New Testament scripture that shows how a person can get their sins forgiven while outside of the New Covenant?

Most of us are familiar with the one proof scripture that has all the necessary elements tied together into one neat doctrine - Matther 26: 27,28:

(All scripture references are from the NWT)

"And taking a cup, he offered thanks and gave it to them, saying: “Drink out of it, all of you, for this means my ‘blood of the covenant,’ which is to be poured out in behalf of many for forgiveness of sins."

So, here we have the cup + all of you + the blood + the covenant = the forgiveness of sins. You must be part of the blood covenant to get to the sin forgiveness part.

And of course the back up scriptures are Eph. 1:7 By means of him we have the release by ransom through the blood of that one, yes, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his undeserved kindness.

And also Hebrews 9:22 " unless blood is poured out no forgiveness takes place."

The biblical message is clear : no blood , no forgiveness of sins. But JW's somehow have it stuck in their head that they can have access to the blood without being part of the blood covenant.

Not one NT scripture supports this. Even JW's admit that this was new light that got brighter and was not a first century doctrine. However the apostle Paul warned that even if an angel from heaven preached a "good news" different from the one they preached, "let him be accursed" . (Gal. 1:8) How could they possibly get out of that one?

But getting back to the main point here; I have had JW's somehow point to the great crowd that survive the Great Tribulation as proof evidence that you can be saved without being part of the blood covenant. But upon examination, that scripture reads just the opposite:

Rev. 7: 14 These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

So here we have the Great Crowd who are also part of the blood covenant and have been declared righteous just as the 144,000 Jews previously had.

I say it's high time every JW is taken to task for this glaring hole in their errant theology because by rejecting the New Covenant, they are not included in ANY group that gets saved.

Perry, your whole arguments are based on the concept of ancestral sins and single payer redemption (Pauline messianic beliefs) and Transubstantiation which was the polar opposite of Judaism's messiah.

You worry about a world in which there are the "saved" and "unsaved".

"And taking a cup , he offered thanks and gave it to them, saying: “Drink out of it, all of you , for this means my ‘ blood of the covenant ,’ which is to be poured out in behalf of many for forgiveness of sins ."

You forgot to highlight "many". A typical argument is that Jesus did not specify that his blood was to be poured out in behalf of ALL, but rather for MANY. I don't agree with that argument but it is an argument.

how about "--the LAMB that takes away the sin of the WORLD--" ??

Lamb like in passover lamb, BLOOD on the doorposts. ??

That would be too easy, shut down the need to recruit.

"takes away the sin of the world" this is where christian theology starts falling apart. First you have this assumption that there is such a thing as "sin of the world" that needs some resolve. Then the problems mount because it becomes apparent quickly that you have to do something to get saved so it is not universal blanket foregiveness policy. You have to buy into human sacrifice, you have to buy into Transubstantiation.

Zoos , that struck me too . Though you could say that MANY is not in accordance with only a small number ie. 144,000 being saved by the Blood of the Lamb ,out of all the people who are wanting to be saved .
