Index of my Watchtower Doctrine Threads

I just wanted to put links to my Watchtower threads all in the same place for my own benefit and future reference.

I wrote these 4 articles almost 20 years ago just after I left the Watchtower and before I had encountered any ex-JW books or websites. They were all based on original research of old WT publications and the NWT bible.

My Explanation of why they got it wrong about Blood using only the NWT...

I still think this line of reasoning is devastating to the blood doctrine. I have yet to hear a rational response.

The Gospel contrasted with the Watchtower doctrine of the Ransom...

I wrote this when I was an uber-evangelical. Although I no longer believe the christian gospel I still think this is a useful bit of research into the history of the Watchtower doctrine. It is based on many hours of reading Rusell's and Rutherford's books.

Jehovah's Witnesses view of Jesus compared to the early church...

An extensive survey of the New Testament exploring how early christians related to Jesus. It could be used to reason with a JW relative without getting anywhere near the trinity dogma.

My letter to Brooklyn about the Parousia that got me disfellowshipped...

Following the '95 Watchtower that changed the meaning of the "generation" I did an extensive study of eschatology and wrote up my conclusions. Sending it to London Bethel and later to Brooklyn was the beginning of my exit from the Watchtower.

    Will check these out later.

I believe I've read the parousia one already. . .. . Good stuff from what I remember.

Evidently, you thought yourself right out of "the truth."

    What a shame!

Crofty, did you detail a thread when you started to have your first doubt, if not, what was the first thing that gave you the cold feeling down your spine? Not a major issue, just a small weird feeling.

Is your wife still with you and did your FIL ever apologize or are they still stuck?

Thanks for the index cofty, I have read your letter when I looked you up, but the other threads look helpful also. I might read them on my lazy Sunday as I am not going to the meeting today. Hahaha! Kate xx

Bucketshopbill - I didn't join any ex-JW forum for many years after I left the Watchtower.

I wrote the parousia letter to send to Bethel when I was still a JW. I had just resigned from being an elder.

The Ransom essay was written following a lot of personal research for my own benefit. I read many of Russell's and Rutherford's books. It was a very enlightening experience. There is no surer way to take the magic off the "truth" than to see for yourself the shambolic way it developed. It has been on the Reachout Trust website for years.

The blood essay was written while I was still a JW - but only just!

The survey of how chritians related to Jesus was written during my "evangelical" years.

My wife and I left at the same time while our children were still young. I am glad to say I haven't heard from my b@$t@rd of a FIL in 20 years. I have no idea if he is dead or alive. His problems have nothing to do with him being a JW.
