ravens, as far as I can tell, you haven't moved from the holocaust analogy, even when I protested it was extreme. You simply replied that it is not extreme and equivalent. Well, no discussion is going to go anywhere if your premier skill is to remain immovable.

    Nope

Your immobility is neither noble or exemplary.

So you do agree that in this scenario a woman should have the right to chose an abortion.

    Thank you.

I notice also, ravens, that when the baby was aborted to save the woman's life, you referred to the baby as a fetus. It that to make it sound less....brutal?

The raw reality is if life begins at conception as you have defined it, that in saving the woman's life, another is forfeited. One life is considered over the other.

It is an abortion Unstop. The doctor removes the live baby resulting in its death in order to save the life of the mother.

It is very sad and regretable but you have agreed it is morally sound that a woman should have that choice.

We have only just begun to explore this line of thought by the way.

    Jgnat is spot on!

gjnat: i also noticed you said "done" and your still here, so we can play word games but im not in the mood for pointless claims, fetus /baby i have use them both interchangably this whole thread. and cofty i have never said she had a "choice to abort" the goal is that the doctor put saving her life ahead of the baby when theres no way to save both. that is not the mother saying kill the baby, i gave you an illustation about a house fire. and a firefighter. time and time again cofty you manipulate words to fit your agenda.

Some friends of mine, who campaign against abortion, did a brainstorm on how they could shift their message to a positive one and decided to switch to "parents need support". They founded Kids Kottage in town and it has proven to be hugely popular.

Another church provides intensive support to single parents by giving them a night including babysitting, haircuts all around, community kitchen and other supports.

This is so important. Some pro-lifers are in reality pro-birthers. Concern about mothers and babies, only until the baby is born. Then they disdain any kind of support for mothers who wish to keep their babies, including any social services like medicaid, section 8 or snap food benefits, grants for education or help with childcare during school or job training.

I am not pro-abortion, but I am pro-choice. I do not want to see America turn back to the days of butchery, when even Christian women sought back room abortions, maybe even especially Christian women and teen aged girls living in Christian homes.

I am one who also believes that mothers, expectant included, need support in every way. If you are going to insist all babies be carried to term, then be sure you're going to help mother and baby thrive and succeed. I don't mean that you should just offer adoption as the only choice. I mean the kind of support Jgnat mentions.

If you believe in an afterlife, then you should believe that the baby hasn't lost all hope or life potential. If you believe in quality of life for the mother and baby, understand that there are just times a mother feels forced to choose abortion. Hopefully earlier in the pregnancy.
