Wing, Spectra...
That was a great point about that 2008 wasn't even supposed to GET here in the first place.
Great points.
so, i was at the local mall today and ran into a jw friend that i had grown up with and attended school with.
hadn't seen him in 6 months or so.
he didn't see me, so i had to approach him.

according to the feb 2009 kingdumb misery, this is the title of the new hounder-hounder talks for public talks starting march 1. now, i can only imagine worldly fantasies include having a family, a reasonable measure of health and security, and being able to live a decent life.
kingdumb reality means throwing your life away out in field circus, attending boasting sessions, dutifully studying washtowel publications every tuesday all evening, and dying stagnant and having produced zero value in your own life.
One of my last meetings I went to, the C.O. was up there telling all the young ones how they should make the WT their career.
I remember thinking, "Here I did that for 10 years - all through my 20's me and my wife pioneered. And first sign of trouble - everyone scatters."
You know... now that I'm away from the WT, Ihave a few friends now that are devout Christians.
It's amazing how many of them are incredibly balanced in their lives are.
Many keep amazingly high moral standards - but at the same time, they have real lives with real careers. Doctors, Lawyers, Musicians.
They also spend many years developing talents. Singing, playing musical instruments. Arts.
On top of that, they are constantly preaching as well.
It's crazy.
It seems that the WT is bent on creating this illusion that you can't have a fullfilling life outside their organization.

is there some connection between the digital tv mandate and freeing up the airwaves in preparation for rfid?.
doesn't scripture say that satan is the prince of the power of the air?.
anyone else think there could be a connection here?.

If Max Keiser thinks that the American Dollar is that bad - it's very very simple.
He can request that his paychecks from the Huffington Post be paid to him by way of toilet paper - since it's the same thing, right?
The American Dollar is going anywhere anytime soon.
American just called the world's bluff and the world bliinked.
Factories are also closing in China - because we're not buying stuff from them anymore.
The Dollar has gained back on the Euro from 1.7 to about 1.4.
The world just found out it needs a strong U.S. because there's not another country out there that has consumers like us.
What is happening to the economy is a correction - not a collapse.
Poor people have been living like Middle Class. Middle Class has been living like the Rich. The Rich have been living like Multi-Millionaires.
The bad economy has just "Put American's in it's Place."
But it has not destroyed us.

i just saw joel osteen on larry king on cnn.
i don't know a lot about joel osteen.
i've never read his books or watched him on tv but i was struck with how positive he is and how upbeat and encouraging his message is.
Brother Apostate.
I love you.
More than you know.
We are BOUNDED by our time together with the Watchtower.
But I tell you...
Jehovah's people... God's People...
The True Believers need a soft hand... not a hard one.
If the WT ruled with a soft hand, and with encouragment. I believe we would all be much better off today.
Joel Osteen is encouraging.
Say what you will.
But he is inspiring.
I see you quoted scriptures... and well noted.
But other scriptures also say, "You will know a tree by it's fruit."
Are there those who tickle the ear?
Of course.
But the difference is Joel Osteen produces fruit worth eating.
He inspires - not tears down.

nothing says merry christmas like cold, hard cash.. this year, google is giving its employees an iphone wannabe:.
http://www.neowin.net/news/main/08/12/21/google-shares-the-holiday-spirit-with-employees.
.
When Google had their stock trading at $760-ish a share - they were famous for treating their employees well.
I believe they even had a in-house sushi restaurant - that you could eat in there every day for free.
From what I heard, they had an unbelievable amount of perks - including things like massages - free workout rooms.
I think techs were even allowed to spend up to 25 percent of their time on personal creative projects. Projects they would hope would bring in new inovation.
Now Google is trading at about $299 a share.
And they cut a lot of the good stuff.
Right now, we can sit in the sidelines and either laugh, poke fun or cry along side Google.
But I tell you, the employees have nothing to complain about. When times were good, employees there were well compensated.

This is my unofficial benchmarks: (for guys - and subject to debate)
18 - of course this is a major benchmark - like you're officially an adult. I think everyone looks forward to this. And there are no losers. Because at 18 - everyone is judged on their dreams and desires.
21 - of course - because you get to drink alcohol - and everyone still looks forward towards the future. And you don't really have to have accomplished anything yet in life.
25 - my pic - because your insurance goes down - you can rent a car. But I think this is the first birthday that makes really reflect. Am I married yet. Do I have a career. But still - at this age - it's still "ok" to not have accomplished anything yet in life.
30 - to me is big. I think this is the birthday where you decide if you're a loser or not. Few are rich at this age - but you start to wonder about your career. If you're married. Or you you look back at your failed relationships.
George Carlin said it best - there are a few winners in life - but a lot of losers... a lot of loser. At 30 - it's the first time you start to wonder if where you are in life and how you compare to all your grandiose dreams when you were 18 and 21.
35 - I think this is the panic age. BS all you want how you feel great - but truth be told - this is the age where guys start to lose their hair and get a little grey. Hate to be negative - but by 35 you show your cards. If you're honest with yourself - you know about how successful you're going to be in life. Whether you have real talent or your just ordinary.
For the record - my 35 was pretty rotten. I was divorced, my economics was in shables, I was depressed and on Paxil. And I had to look back at 30 when I was riding high. And when I was 30, I predicted that I would be retired by now - at 35. That's how hi-flying I was when I was 30.
Now that I'm reaching 40 - I'm feeling good. Great relationship - Great career. Off Paxil. And I feel a whole lot smarter.
I think I'm way better off at 40 than at 30 - even with the hicup in between. And I probably have an outside shot of being retired if I want.
But the difference now being that at 30 I thought I was invincible and thought my success was a owed to me.
At 40 now (or close to it) - I don't take things like that for granted anymore.
So 40 is big. But at 40 I think your more settled in with yourself. You kind of feel settled into who you are.
I'm interested if the other guys feel about 50 and 60.

In 2009 I will turn 40.
I don't think it will be that big of a deal.
Well.. yes... it's a landmark.
But I think harder was 30.
My 30 was great.
My 35 kind of sucked - because I was divorced at the time - and was wondering where I was head.
But by 40 - you're kind of settled in who you are.
But I think 30 is big. I think 30 makes you look back at their life and wondering what they did with it.

they mean the leadership.
all of this is code for: one who is not ready to really study and accept how the leadership of jehovah's witnesses use the bible to their own self serving means.
but to be fair, jw's teach that most all of these characters refer to the leadership of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body.
All Time,
More stories please.
