  in the interests of being fair, i feel i have to point out this facebook page.

  after one minute of reading, i located at least one lie regarding the tyt or young turks presenter cenk.

  they said he was an atheist so i pointed out that this is not correct as he self identifies as an agnostic.

  the wbts teaches a overlapping (generation) will not pass away since 1914 right?.

  what is your personal genealogy.

  (1) my great grand father was born in 1901. he became active with the bible students around 1910. .

  I asked my jw sister this question while discussing the generation change , "if I showed you a photograph of my mother myself my son and his son how many generations is that? she did not even answer but just twisted her mouth and shrugged her shoulders! Says it all

  On the button adamah cherry picking the bible has caused the whole sorry mess IMO the JWs being probably the most prolific offenders.On the thread of atheism surely no one can deny that the human brain(that means ALL human beings)has an absolute limit beyond that limit who knows.After that its down to guess work and assumptions hence belief in gods then religions etc. All for usually some. form of control ring any bells anyone?

  hello all, it is nice to have a forum for former jw's and see i wasn't the only one out there having serious doubts.

  my parents got into it when i was about 4 years old.

  my family was part of the granville ny congregation.. my dad in time became an elder.

  welcome goldiver I CONCUR i have shared many similar experiences. my fascination is this; although its probably retorical , why have many like us seen through this deception whereas our families with much the same upbringing, genes etc cannot? perhaps thats why we involve ourselves with sites like this .

  Jesus' Teachings - Helpful or Harmful?

  spinning off from another thread, have jesus' teachings been less than universally helpful to mankind?

  how do we measure if a particular philosophy is helpful or harmful?.

  i am going to use the "universal morals" listed here.

  jesus' teachings assumes that what christians perceive to be his teachings are correctly recorded remember jesus wrote not 1 word of the bible i.e. anyone who says [jesus said such and such] should prefix it with the words this or that person says jesus says then you have to believe that these so called holy spirit inspired people got it correct without any personal benefit agenda this all 2000 thousand years ago remember in the last 150 years of so called holy spirit inspired bible students JWs GB not even to mention the intervening 1850 years they have made so many cockups its not even funny lol dont insult your intelligence[to whom it may concern]be true to your own good judgement and live your life according to how you would like to be treated it is definately within your own reasoning no matter what you[or anyone else]thinks are jesus teachings

  i want to talk about my story because i need help and advice and most impirtant a lot of comfort.. one year and a half ago i met a wonderful guy.

  he was really nice and supporyed me during hard moments.

  i slowly fell in love with him.

  You must realise the man you fell in love with is part himself and part jw if he ever came to realise his jw part is false he may become someone you don't recognise which could be much more traumatic for you in my opinion you should try to meet someone who can give you his whole unadulterated heart good luck to you I hope you get through your hurt soon time is a great healer I know from experience
