I watched part of the Dirk Bogarde interview film, will be watching them all, thanks!
Last night, watched this with a friend.
the battle of the century is a silent short film starring american comedydouble act laurel and hardy.
the team appeared in a total of 107 films between1921 and 1951.. the film is famous for using over 3,000 cream pies in the film's climacticpie fight; however, for many years, its second reel, containing the fight, only survived in three minutes of fragments used in the documentaries ofrobert youngson.
the complete reel was rediscovered in 2015. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/the_battle_of_the_century.

a new third edition of apocalypse delayed has been released.
this may already have been discussed or may be old news but i just saw it on youtube.
mr penton, the author, says he has included jws attempt to deal with 1914 and their new light on the governing body being faithful and discreet slave in this new edition.
When I was researching, looking around, late 80s, early 90s, Dr. Penton's books were the only ones in our library that were exclusively about the JW. There was no online community; I was on my own. They helped me a lot, especially since he *was* a JW, elder's son, etc, and also a scholarly work. It was a first for me, to read the real deal written by the real deal, and not just a chapter in a book about cults. (Mr. Franz' books are there now.)
Happy to see a new edition; he is on facebook, and also has an account here. : ))
I looked at a couple of the booksellers' sites here, but no copies. There's two I know, that don't have websites; I'll give them a call. One guy in particular has a huge stock, and really good prices. If he has any of Dr. Penton's books, I'll report back.
i'm leaving.... leaving this video here since issues have been far too polarizing lately!.

Oh, MY! Thank you, sparky1.
"How YOU doin'?" :D Suh-weet!
The big ears! And they are fierce hunters, love to play (if indoors, even more play)!
Yes, I have had 3 feline companions, they were all calico, and all chose me. I kid you not.
This is my Blue. Lost her to tick paralysis, January 2014.
there is a limit to how much straw (long yellow grass) a camel can carry on its back.
if you keep putting more straw on top, it will finally break the camel's back.
when you are at the last straw you are finally angry and will not take any more.. my moment (to stop attending all watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager.
haha, when I was a kid,,, what OUTLAW said! But the actual straw?
One of my friends hung himself - 17, secretly gay and a cross dresser in an ultra conservative town (I was "serving where the need was greater" TM). Single mom, rabid JW, mid-1970s. He was missed, so we went to his room to find him.
Hey, Jehovah?
BUH-bye!
Have I mentioned lately, how much I detest the concept of that child-abusing, homophobic, vile, personification of evil that is referred to as "Jehovah"?
john cedars has posted his latest blog "the trouble with apostates (and why it shouldn't put you off becoming one)".
i acknowledge that he is entitled to his opionin just as we are ours but i am disappointed in some of his comments.. at this stage i'll try to be objective about it.
he is defending his own position after all.. what bothers me most is his comments about athiests and christians which he seems to identify as being in conflict with each other.
Muddy Waters Indeed.
It's important to take things slowly when exiting. It's an emo journey, and needs time and work to completely rid one's self of the cult personality. I'm still socially inept, they didn't leave much for me to work with! :P
Oscar Wilde, one of my favorite quotes: The best revenge is living well.
anybody take up coloring?
i got lost ocean by johanna basford and i got another coloring book mandalas and more.
i just use crayola colored pencils and some gel pens and thin tipped markers.
I have some free pages bookmarked; fantasy art. It's good practice for painting, too. I'll use my water colour pencils. Wanting to do some sci-fi fantasy stuff, and I can experiment with colour mixing and technique. I usually do butterflies, flowers, and comic book art, and the fantasy art is going to be different, especially with light effects and the pictures in my head.(which is a scary place to be, at times hehe).
Also, depending on the paper / card stock you use for printing, you can use other media, like acrylics, water colour washes, etc. Even traceable onto canvasboard, if you want to use oils.
And I have a new box of Crayolas that I am dying to use! : P
Have fun!
EDIT: PF, I do that with the weekend newspaper. B&W ads, etc. After the crossword is done, doodle some of the pages. yup.

"You can't see me! I'm in the bag! You may have the Cloak of Invisibility, but I have the Bag of Bewilderment."
My gurl was a calico retriever as well. Sweet!
cappytan - that vid is the bestest! I had to shed a tear, and now have the widest smile. We have something in common now, I'm going to book mark it for those horrid days. Thank you, it's wonderful. Hey, we may clash swords at times, but respect, look forward to seeing you around. xx
if you've never come across the above title before, it's considered to be the shortest novel possible.
a story, possibly a moving one, in just 6 words attributed to earnest hemingway.. it started a genre called "flash fiction" which is a memoir in six-words.. what would yours be?.
indoctrinated child found freedom, love, family.
You're welcome, Xan. : D When I came back to read, I had done that, and though my first 'novel' was true, it connoted negativity (within me); the second is more about how I really do see myself, and I had been reminded of deciding to choose happiness. I'm real happy that my thoughts helped get you into the same more positive groove. xx
PS. Actually, I have a Phoenix quilt, all basted and ready to finish - I must get that done! It's been >6 years in a trunk, waiting to 'rise'. ; )
Oub, good one! hehehe
