I examine the evidence and limit my conclusions accordingly.-cofty
That's just an unmeasureable claim. Evidence is subjective, personal experience can be considered as evidence. Evidence to me is different to evidence to you.

as of now iam making an unbiased examination of evolution.
however one thing keeps me hanging on to the belief of a supreme spirit being; the existence of spirits.
i have heard countless accounts of people who have experienced frightening encounters with evil forces.

That is just a whinge.- Cofty
Hahaha is that your best response, you make me laugh cofty. Sometimes personal experience is enough for some people and evidence to them is solid. Plenty of people just believe in everything, and it's no big deal cofty.

this excellent little video sumamrises some of the evidence for the evolutionary history of cetaceans.. if focuses on comparative anatomy, embryology, fossils and dna.. .... .

Well I disagree with them about the fact they promote critical thinking, the 10 minute video had a perfect section to promote two views. See if you can work it out, but instead it presented everything as fact. Critical thinking is about taking in information and reasonably criticising the information and looking at other independent sources to back up what you have learnt.
This movement presents everything as fact leaving no room for criticism. Like I said I would rather watch evolutionary biology by a source without an agenda.

so the dw and i a re considering a trip to see some extended familly still very much "in.
" so to avoid any embarassing situations we wanted to check when the memorial date was.
it turns out the first full moon after the vernal equinox is april 4th, 2015.. here's the good part...it's also the night of a full lunar eclipse.
Yes I agree, JWs will no doubt put it down to some supernatural phenomenem. Kate xx

Cofty it's not sad that people are abstract thinkers it's a vital part of growing up. You shamelessly quote mined me and did not put the whole of my sentence to make some glib remark.
Having concrete beliefs about God, evolution and spirits is not essential for happiness. Having concrete views on these things can cause many to push their views on others using teqniques such as intellectual bullying. This is a childish and unhealthy way to communicate.

Cofty,
Don't under estimate my intellect. You haven't answered my question Cofty.
These guys have an agenda just like you do. I have been on their FB page and I know what they're about. The video itself is fine just like many Awake magazine's are fine. But the movement have an agenda just like the WT have an agenda. On the video they talk about the work they do and need donations for. So cofty you haven't answered my question what is their "work"?
We have free state schools all over the UK teaching evolution, why do we need this movement, what is their real agenda?

So many people nowadays are abstract thinkers. They don't need evidence for their beliefs, just a little personal experience. I know someone who doesn't believe in God, but believes in spirits and fortune telling and in evolution.
In the UK evolution is something taught at school and is not mutually exclusive to belief in God and spirits. Concrete thinkers however, which all JWs are, and some continue to be once they wake up, need to have defined bounderies for their beliefs. Concrete thinking is very childlike and does not give a person the balance that is required as an adult.

so this weeks service meeting is so full of "crazy".
a whole 15 min part devoted to trying to indoctrinate everyone on how to "explain our beliefs on 1914".
then another 15 min part called "a tool to help us explain our beliefs about 1914".
Sounds like they're trying to perpetuate the lie. Kate xx

a rejection of evolution often stems from a fundamental lack of understanding how the Scientific Method and Peer Review works.-Coded Logic
The general population do not reject evolution, especially here in the UK. JWs do though, but many xJWs when waking up accept evolution. Evolution and belief in God are not mutually exclusive as the creator of this video would have us believe. I gather this from having a look at the facebook page. They are a fundemental movement that solicit funds for their "work".

Interesting video thanks cofty, but I prefer watcing evolutionary biology without an agenda. What work are they doing that justifies asking for donations?
