What Do You Miss Most About Having Been A Witness?

I miss wearing ties that cut off blood flow to my brain.

I miss my polyester pants.

I miss carrying my heavy service bag.

I miss singing kingdom songs, even if I can't sing.

I miss the extra five hours of sleep I enjoyed each week at meetings.

I miss waking people up on Saturday mornings just so I could show off my polyester pants.

I miss having to buy a new car every three years because of excessive miliage accumulated in field service.

I miss having my July long weekend spoiled each year by conventions.

I miss all the cleavage I saw on sisters when I worked behind the magazine counter, and on mics.

I miss shaving twice a day on meeting nights.

I miss the regular counsell and discipline from elders. I crave discipline.

I miss springing leaks in my boots while out in service on slushy winter days.

I miss having elders call me to fix their computers. Now where will I get my coffee and cookies that I used to receive in payment?

I miss the association of people who genuinely cared for me. The warm and fuzzy feeling I used to enjoy is now gone.

I miss the stale cakes Sister Elizabeth always brought to our book study coffee nights. Now I pay dentists for mere cleanings rather than repairs. What a waste of money!

I miss "Mabel the Mouth". Now where am I supposed to get my weekly fix of gossip and slander?

These are a few of the things I "miss".

ok folks, many of you on here have the usual: dogs and cats.. i know country girl, she's got an entire a to z array of critters, with henley the rooster being my favourite, even though the stew pot is lookin' good for him, but...well...compassion rules in his favour, and a broom.. cockatiels.. who has one, or two or birds as pets?.

i'm curious.. now that i've got my webcam working, i'm going to take a picture of my beloved nim, the footless rescued cockatiel.

she's 2 years old, and she's quite a character.. i also have a budgie (budgeriar/parakeet) named baby.

I have a cockatiel I rescued from a kingdumb hall parking lot. Had him for 6 years now.

He does his loudest screetching when I'm hung over. I think it's deliberate.

You're right, we DO need a change in Ontario, one that's long overdue.

I hope every eligible Ontarian does the responsible thing and casts their ballot on October 2.

well...let's say, everyday.. i'm going to have some fun here, because well, anything besides that, is no fun.. questions, questions, and more questions, and what will the answers be?

I'm an XJW but I don't have any remnants of their thinking.

2. Are you 'out' there? as in, not afraid to be seen on an apostate site, or known to be a former JW?
I'm not afraid to be seen anywhere, or to be known as an XJW.

3. Are you angry, bitter or sad, as a result of your exposure and participation in JW activities/lifestyle?
I'm angry that I was ever stupid enough to become a JW.

4. Do you still have this feeling 'Armageddon' could still come anyday or in the future?
No I don't, and I don't care one way or the other.

5. What was your biggest epiphany that lead you to leave the JWs, or at least make plans to do so?
Child abuse.

6. Do you still read/believe in the bible?
No.

7. Do you still believe in god/higher power?
I don't care enough to waste my time thinking about it.

8. Do you accept other exJWs with opposing views than yours: athieism/agnostic vs. belief in god/higher power? (vice-versa)
People can believe what they want, as long as they don't try to force their beliefs on me.

9. Do you grade people on their disfellowshipping offenses? ie: apostacy, fornication, smoking etc.
No, the important thing is that they're out of an abusive cult.

10. Are you still a JW? (no names required)
No.

11. Anything you'd like to add, for what it's worth?
I'm just glad I'm out and can now get on with my life.

I'm not the easiest person to get to know, so sometimes people get the wrong idea about me. In my experience, once someone has a negative opinion of me, there's almost nothing I can do about it. If I prove them wrong, they just seem to resent it even more.

addiction to this board

hey guys, hamas has admitted to me he could not keep away from this board -- this is actually a serious question -- i have found i have become addicted and just can not stay away or stop posting -- every morning and evening -- sometimes at lunchtime -- and certainly most weekends i come on this board -- am i normal?

is it just me and hamas or are there others out there addicted to simon's damn board?

I get up at 5:30 every morning, and the first thing I do is check the board. Then I go to work, and check the board most of the day. Then I get home and stay on the board until about 1:00 am, sometimes longer. I do this every day. I don't check the board when I'm out partying though, because I don't have wireless internet access - yet.

Am I addicted to the board?

Nahhhh!!!
