yet cruelty abounds
I have only one thing to say.
Only on the internet.
after reading some of the comments against silent lambs, i thought i would respond back with my own topic.
anyway, i have met bill bowen in person at the silent lambs summit in nashville back in march.
i did not feel that he was arrogant in anyway or egotistical.he seemed to conduct that summit in a very professional way and really put together a good program.

how much do you think movies, effect people knowledge of history or even world events today?
there was a programme on channel4 a fews weeks back basically revealing conspiracy theroies about jfk assasination to be a load of nonsense.oliver stone defended his film (which this programe had torn apart) by saying well people know its just a film and dont believe everything in movies.
but his missed a vital point , what if the film is all a person knows of that event.
I think when some people see movies based on actual events they assume everything contained therein is fact.
Ever see "The Birdman From Alcatraz"? Well, it paints a pretty nice picture of that guy. In reality he was a complete psychopath who actually murdered a fellow inmate, LOL!
But that's Hollywood for you. Anything to make a buck.
hi everyone, i'm new :) i know jesus died on an upright stake and not a cross but i don't know where to find the info on where or when the idea of the crucifixation orginated from.
can someone help me on this please?
thanks in advanced :)
There is much controvery on the subject but it seems most evidence points to the manner in which criminals were executed by the Romans...was by Crucifiction
Only in Jehovah Witness land.
It isn't at all contraversial in other religions. The dubs just need this 'contraversey' to keep them 'seperate' and the 'perfect' religion. Utter nonsense. That sounds like scribes and pharisees whining over nothing to me.
if you didn't know that the watchtower society published the awake magazine, you might.
think it was published by some semi-liberal born again group.
doesn't give a realistic representation of most witness families i'm aware of.. .
If only a few Witness kids
"left the truth", they could claim that this is a general aphorism BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT'S
HAPPENING! If the overwhelming majority of Witness kids drift away or are df'd
Good god yes! They don't ever stay in! The ones that do are very rare... and end up DF'd and grovelling back to 'the vomit', or just grabbing a brain and realizing that it's bullshit.
Gary, your comments, as usual, are perfect.

when, in genesis 1:30, god says: "to every wild beast of the earth and to every flying creature of the heavens and to everything moving upon the earth in which there is life as a soul i have given all green vegetation for food," are we to understand that this absolutely excludes the idea that any animals ate meat at that time or before that?
and on this basis are we to conclude that all animals will be vegetarian in the new world?
This very topic bothered me for some time.
I guess when Eve 'sinned' and 'decieved' her stupid husband into sinning (shakes head), we suddenly had to start eating meat, er um... after the flood... whatever. Good thing Noah took all those animals on the ark. I wonder what he ate first?
Oh wait! The bible is just bullshit anyways.

That does not mean its founder is, or should be above criticism if they are found wanting, especially if they have relied on the community of XJW's for help in reaching their goal
Yes, as long as it's constructive criticism; not half-truths based mainly on emotion. If emotion and idiodic conclusions are to be thrown about, it's just stupid.
The internet has a way of keeping us all at arms length of our 'opinions'. The result is some truly awful communications, ones that I am saying are more political in nature. I'm guilty too.

Actually, very few people dragged him 'through the mud', so to speak on that thread. It completely backfired.
victory!
the court appointed attorney will be recommending to the judge the following at the hearing tomorrow morning.
unsupervised visits with mom at the children?s request only, away from her home and away from stepfather.
how much harm did you cause to the people in your congregation?
everybody complains how the witnesses did this and that and in the process caused so much harm.
but what you don't say is how much pain you caused others while you were in.
Cmon everyone, take the bait!

2evil,
Jehovahs Witnesses are not 'the truth'. It took me years to figure it out, years of shame, years of guilt, years of living a life that was for naught!
When I think of how better off I would have been financially rather than 'pioneering'.... it makes me sick!
Now wasn't COC a kick in the ass? I literally had to put the book down and go for a walk to clear my head I was so pissed off sometimes....
Welcome to the real world. You've just found out that Jehovahs Witnesses are full of crap. That's a hard pill to swallow.
