Dumb ass cultish elders

ok so i'm not officaily da'd as of yet and the elders (2) come over to my house and want to talk with my wife.

so i'm thinking there looking for more info on me and ask her to go sit with them in their car since there was no place for privacy at my house.

then a few minutes later my wife calls me and asks me to meet them out at the car and they drive around and i get in.

I have to wholeheartedly condemn adopting a heavy handed dictatorial "head of the household" rule."

This isn't about adopting a heavy handed head of household rule. It's about using the JW's head of household use against them in reverse theocratic warfare. A man can't be having JW elders speaking alone with and texting his wife to pry personal information about the husband out of her. A man also can't be having JW elders with possible molestation of the daughter information finally bringing it to the attention of the girl's father in such a bizzare way.

JYD.....I am a fan. When first lurking and reading about your approach I thought it was too strong. Now I feel the same way and pity the fool JW that comes up to me with the Watchtower crap to count time.

when i left the jw's, close friends and some elders discussed my desicion with me,without fail they all concluded the same thing.... "but where else is there to go?!".

at the time, the question just confused me, i could not see why it confused me or the very telling nature of such a comment.

i never thought that once.. firstly, this indicates that many jw's remain jw's simply because of this tunnel vision perspective... everything in their periphery is valueless, but the wt on which they focus is everthing.

Elders have possible information about a suspected molestation of a young girl?

Elders secretly inform the mother in a parked car, because the father DA'd himself from the religion?

Then the elders call you, and you agree to have "a car meeting" with them where they inform you of the reason for their visit?

You are right, it is very cultish, but in the JW religion this isn't shocking news.

I tend to agree with some of the others, that you have control of a lot of this nonsense. Put your foot down. You should have already made it clear that those baffoons should be scared shitless to be talking or texting your wife. When the elders came to your house and suggested a private "car meeting" with your wife, you should have threw a fit and bitched them out. Those elders have no power over you. Stand up to them and tell them off! JW elders will be as cultish to you as you let them be.

If they were smart, which they are not, I would make Warwick Rutherford University or some such name. BYU has worked for the Mormons pretty well. Just slightly change the current restriction on "higher education" to say that this University would all JWs get the education necessary for todays world while not having the currupting influences of "the world". Get JW professors (may be a challenge but you could send some to various universities to get a teaching degree similar to what they do with the lawyers in their legal department). Charge a high tution (providing long term financing to "exemplary" publishers or kids of elders/ms). It would be another not for profit entity so another place to generate profits without paying taxes.

I think Doubting Bro may be onto something here as a future source of profits for Watchtower INC. University education for profit to JW's has unlimited potential.

1. Watchtower INC. already have free land in Warwick and a slave labor force willing to build a nice Watchtower University campus & living quarters.

2. Guilt, lure & hire for cheaper wages qualified JW's to teach, operate & manage Watchtower U.

3. Feed & lodge everyone associated with Watchtower U. for profit.

4. Come out with "new light" that Watchtower U. is approved by Jehovah and affluent JW's need to send their kids here. Just starting out with 5,000 JW students @ $30,000 yr = $150,000,000 revenue. The University campus worth could be substantial. Then years down the road Watchtower INC. flips the HQ & University campus for profit after they build another HQ & University complex on free donated land with free JW slave labor.

The JW Governing Body would no doubt take advantage of any location where they are allowed more freedom to do as they interpret. If they are in a location with different fanatical groups, I would think the Watchtower would try to make local government officials think they are "normal".

I may be wrong, but I think the driver in all this Warwick HQ move is probably some dead JW left them this property in their will, and they can generate tons of cash by cashing out of Brooklyn. Free land and free JW slave labor to build whatever they want....very smart move transitioning from religious publishing corporation to religious holding company involved in printing for profit, real estate fliping for profit and financial investing for profit. I also think that in the future the lake property there will be turned into a JW resort for profit.
