Yes Matt 6.33 last night's item was tragic. I think they would have thanked Jehovah no matter what good happened and blamed Satan for the bad stuff because he is the ruler of the world 1John 5:19.

to illustrate my question.... i am watching an episode of the australian tv program "q & a" on youtube.
the panel includes the brilliant laurence krauss, gay bishop gene robinson, the woefully ignorant and bigoted rev fred nile and a few others.. the early questions put gene robinson under the spotlight and to be fair he comes across as a loving, compassionate, intelligent and - in his own words - "fabulous" person.
by contrast the reverend nile is a caricature of everything that is dispicable and hateful about theism.. a self-righteous young man in the audience asks gene how he deals with the bible's condemnation of homosexuality.
To answer your OP question. I would say less than 50 yrs ago. Thats is based on what Julia has said she has learnt, and I am assuming she learnt it less than 50yrs ago, and I am assumning she is a human.

In my opinoin, science will never fully explain anything, especially the non-existence of God. There are always discoveries to be made at an individual level. I am satisfied with my scientific knowledge and my belief that God exists.
However if he keeps ignoring me when I pray to him, and cannot show me satisfying reasons why my family is suffering and others the world over are suffering, then my relationship with him is going to deteriote rapidly.

In my opinion Jehovah needed to use complex polarising separating techniques, in order for the right balance of enatiomers to form in living things. There is also a need for a creator for me, becuase I want to pray to him, even if he ignores me.
