  hey guys,.

  while i was at the meeting at the kingdom hall, (oh so fun!....

  ) the person giving the sunday talk was talking about paradise and how wonderful it will be.. while trying not to fall asleep it hit me... what happens when the earth fills up with people in paradise?

  Oh my God man, it sounds like when you get stoned you start thinking. All that happens with me is I write down stuff and later can't make sense of it. "Hampster Nipples? What was I thinking?" As for the question my mother always told me the populate other planets theory, for some reason everyone in my congregation was always thinking life would be like it was when people first started populating the U.S. they'd have to farm and no electricity, stuff like that. Oh and since the whole world would be a paradise we could populate every inch of it like upper Canada and Antarctica. I'd still rather die, I like my flawed system of things, where else can you at three in the morning order a pizza and watch a porno just because you had the urge to? Certainly not in the "new system". I think I'm better off here.

  See I find alot of the urban legend stuff funny because my sister told me about how an elder held a Smurf party, but he forbid any other girls to come as smurfette because his daughter was already going to dress up like her. So my sister had to go as Hefty Smurf. Very not cool. As for all the other rumors, the Kiss thing stems off of a t-shirt that they had, the AC/DC thing was on a news report and I saw it on pop up video once. When I was younger I was told not to listen to Nirvana or Metallica, when I left it was no one could listen to Marilyn Manson, whatever the big trend is the JW's will find a way not to let their kids get involved. I got real involved into underground Hardcore music so whenever someone asked me what kind of music I listened to I would give them a whole bunch of bands they never heard of, then they had no fuel for their fire. It wasn't like any elders were going to go out of their way to find a Very Catalogue and order the music I was listening to anyway. LOL! Too much man, thanks though for making me laugh about all the stupid rumors, life as a JW child how sad were we?

  I sure don't think I was, the last two years I was in the Hall no one spoke to me. The elders told me right to my face that they were telling the kids not to hang around with me because I was a bad influence. My mother was a big kiss-ass so maybe people thought I was doing the same. But when I was young I was so shy I wouldn't even speak to the CO when we fed him lunch so I don't think I was.

  have you found any of your friends that were disfellowshipped before you left after losing touch with them?

  i've found it to be extremely difficult, i'm thinking of just giving up maybe some positive stories will motivate me to look longer.

  Vile temp agencies

  the day i'm to start, i fight traffic for 1hr.

  15min and finally arrive to discover the parking garage required a permit.

  i illegally park, and go into my check in point.

  I hear that, same temp agency for me. Every time I asked for a full time temp position they'd give me a part time one. Both far from my house. The last one I got was the absolute worst, I suddenly got let go from a very long full time temp position (from Manpower this time) and I was desperate right before my wedding just to have some cash to spend on the honeymoon so I take this temp position at a hospital of course since I asked for full time Randstad gets me this part time one (the thing is with them is if you refuse a position they won't try to find you anything). So I take the bus to the position and they tell me I have to get a BCI because their notary isn't there, my head gasket goes in my car and I can't get there. I tell them this and they say "Just go they really need the position", about a week goes by and they call me and say "Look leave now, you didn't get the BCI and you have to leave this minute." So whatever man, I'm boycotting Randstad they're terrible. If you need a temp position that goes to hire check out either Addecco or Manpower. If you're in the boston area Hoffman Recruiters are great because they'll bust their butt to get you a position or Winter Wyman too. But now I'm at a permanent position and I can stop with the two years of temp positions.

  Are You Dealing or Dwelling?

  desib's arrival thread got me thinking (along with some kind words from special k).. when i first came here, i was so happy to see so many others with shared experiences and issues of the jw's, yet sad at the same time to know that there were so many.

  i spent alot of time here in the beginning.

  even though i had been out of the jw's for almost 16 years at the time, i found the time i was spending here i was "dwelling" or going back to my own painful experiences.

  To be honest I think my being here is a little of both. I like posting and hearing what people have to say, I think I'm dealing with being gone fine, I don't miss being a witness at all, I don't ever think of going back. However I do think of some of my friends I left behind. So in actuality the real reason I post here is just in case one of them is lurking or something maybe I can talk to them again and help them out. Also I feel I look at things in a lighter tone which is something really lacking on the websites out there for ex-JW's, so until I create that "leaving the witnesses and laughing about it" website I'm always talking about, this is the way I contribute to the ex-JW cause.

  i understand that a u can leave message with a firm in alaska who will pass along messages after u have died.. u can basically tell them what u think without reprussions!
