I think it is great that your wife has such an open mind. Like that you have a lot in common and talk use your independent thinking, independent of the society.
Good luck and enjoy life.

me and the wife go to a hall that is pretty "hands off".
i have not really been out in service for probably 1.5 years and my wife has went out maybe 3 times in the last year.

in the last wt article it was said that 4 of the 7 directors rebelled against the decision to install rutherford as president in 1916. then it is said that they left in 1917; a cleansing happened indeed.. .
does anyone of you know the details how rutherford came to power?.
if 4 out of 7 are against it, that doesn't seem to me allright.

If 4 out of 7 are against it, that doesn't seem to me allright. One sister said in her comment at the meeting, it wasn't obviously democratic but it was "theocratic".
I wondered if she thought Jesus himself came down to the US to have Rutherford appointed.

HHi
If God would destroy those ruining the earth he would have to destroy all of us. We all pollute the earth by eating meat (animals fed by soja from places where there was rainforest, contributing to pollution more co2 and methan into the atmosphere by the burps of the cows that we breed just to kill them) by overusing earths resources, using cars and airtravel and so on and so on.
I realised that Jws don't really care about trying to live in a way that shows respect to gods creation. Most of them think it doesn't matter how to behave in that regard as Jehovah will change it anyway after armaggeddon. They rather go to field service with their car groups, driving to each house with the car running (at least in the us, in other countries we use our legs in field service).
My opinion about fukushima
It's a huge manmade disaster. Of cause God will not step in in fukushima. Fortunately the earth is designed in a way that she can resolve huge impacts in her ecology. Wounds like that can heal That just needs time. We are talking here about ten- hundred thousands of years (nuclear waste) or even millions of years (climate).
The earth will survive. If humans will be there is another question. Maybe we will end up fossilized like dinosaurs and another species in the future would try not to make the same mistakes than us.
The earth will survive even though humanity wounds her.

Thank you so much Scully and TD for your detailed and very helpful answers. Rawe thank you for your personal experience.
I told my mother in law that I would never let my child die (of course also not my wife and myself). She was shocked about my "apostate" view (every other mother in law would be that I care for them even though religous pressure). She told me if I pray incessantly to Jehovah about it, he will not let my child come into such a life and death situation. Hearing this I was perplex about how naive she is.
Scully, I agree with you. It also makes me feel very angry how WT is treating women. A few years ago I mentioned that to my wife, that sisters should be treated equally like brothers. Her reaction. WT does it the perfect way and I shouldn't mention such ideas. Strange, because most JWs are women.

Nonjwspouse: thank you for your explanations. I know the reasons why blood transfusions are not against bible scripture. I know the unlogic things of the blood doctrin and I believe that this put a lot of bloodguilt on the organisation. I am waiting for a good moment to talk about it to my very zealous wife and to inform her about my conscience decision that I would allow blood in a life threatening situation, especially also for our baby boy. I just recently had this discussion with my mother in law who said I should show her a situation where the wt society admits that only blood would have saved the life.
Scully: Thanks so much for your answer. I think that there might be situations during birth or c-section where a transfusion is absolutely lifesaving (as there are a lot of sisters who died during childbirth (at least some cases in the media).

Dear friends,
My mother in law said, that bloodless medicine works in all situations.
I don't have a lot of medical experience. Could you tell me, in which situations a transfusion of whole blood, red cells, white cells, platelets or plasma is absolutely necessary to save the life? (I guess massive bloodloss, leukaemia and much more)
Are there some quotes from the wt society that they admit, that sometimes a blood transfusion would be absolutely to save the life?
Thank you so much for your answer.
i have a question and hope to hear some experiences of you who went or are going through this situation:.
actually for several reasons (blood policy, disfellowshipping policy and some more) my conscience is telling me quite strongly, that i should not anymore be a part of that organization.. my wife and even elders know about my doubts (except blood policy).
however i continue to join the meetings actually just to please my wife and to be together with our baby boy.
And I forgot, Later I will private some of you.
You were so kind to give me such a moral support.

Dear friends,
You give me a lot of things to think about.
Inside I am not bound anymore by the Watchtower beliefs. Over the last couple of years I studied a lot about different topics and kind of built "my own belief (I believe in a Creator who made everything in a wonderful way but probably through evolution, pacifiscm and human rights, respect nature and other people, beliefs).
I didn't talk to my wife about these things to influence her, but I told her about my belief. First I thought she respected my change of belief. But that year she became colder and colder and a distance started to develop. As I asked what I have to do, that we can be closer, she said that I have to change my beliefs and feelings (to be watchtower conform again). I told her, that I can not just betray my conscience and that it is important to respect each others beliefs.
Now today (I have my parents in law at our home), my mother in law just talked to me about how unhappy my wife is because of me not being the spiritual head of the family. She said if I don't want to loose my wife, I should change and become spiritual (to watchtower doctrine) again. I am spiritual, just in another way.
I told her about different reasons why I lost confidence in the organisation. We discussed the blood issue and I showed her logical points, and I asked how I would have to react, if the doctors say our baby need a transfusion. Her answer was. "Just like the organisation is saying." But the organisation has different rules in different countries (my wife is from germany and I am from switzerland). I showed her reasons, why the bible does not speak against a blood transfusion and showed her some inconsistencys about the fractions.
Probably I told my mother in law too much.
But anyway I have to discuss with my wife about the blood issue and how we react if our little boy is in an emergency. Here another "blood card" needs to be filled out and my wife takes it seriously (to have copies and so on).
The thing is. I cannot lie to my wife.
We will see how it continues. I try hard to spend a lot of time with her and our little boy and to be a good father and husband.

Well, do you think my boy would suffer if i am da?
Our only friends are witness families with little kids? If i am da, then we couldn't spend time with them as a family. My wife and my boy could, but not if I am there too.
So whenever they want to spend time with them, I have to go away or do something else.
Did you experience situations like this? Was your child suffering?
