so, i'm sitting in front of the tube surfing through channels, and i come upon the tail end of a jw commercial whose tag line is "love builds happy families", and i'm thinking, only if you submit to wt brainwashing.
once on the inside, if you choose to leave, you'll really begin to see the "love" jws are all about.. i guess with dwindling membership and their much ado about nothing house to house "ministries" bringing no new blood in, they're taking a recruiting cue from christendom.
yeah......it does seem that they're airing these ads quite sporadically with no discernable pattern. It's like you'll be flipping through the channels and there it is.
I found the ads errily similar to LDS ads on TV until they speak the tag line CCJW at the end. I guess they're doing that to somehow distance themselves at least in the public eye, from the WTBS.

i now have a pc again.
i had gotten rid of the wt cd because i had a mac ................ can anyone get me a cd-rom?
I have an advance copy of the 2014 WTS CD, in case anybody's interested.
With all those annointed dead or close to it by then, we'll have already been in the "new order" for quite awhile. Though, the "new light" between now and then should make for some interesting reading.
i only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.
all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.
i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.
Now i Have to go to the Memorial and the conventions to keep peace and harmony in my homeI have a weekly bible study and listen to the daily text
How can you stand it? That's one hell of a price you're paying for that peace and security.
In at 25.....out about two years later......
since i'm still an "active" jw, i've being to the book study and we are going threw the "worship" book, (i was getting sick and tired of the 2 isaiah books) anyway.. on the "worship" book p124 p10 it states quote "those of the great crown are pictured as being marked for survival.
(ezekiel 9:4-6) "the mark" is the evidence that they are dedicated to jehovah, baptized as disciples of jesus, and involved in cultivating a christlike personality.
" end quote.
And a question for you Rick. How on earth do you still manage to keep up the facade. It makes me cringe to think what you must be going through. You must be a very strong person, or have a good drug plan.
I was just thinking the same thing. How does he put up with listening to that dribble week after week.
"show yourselves thankful".
(psalm 133:1)(c ).
in what practical ways can we demonstrate that we are truly thankful?.
Blondie (with a full bucket)
You take care moving that bucket to the toilet when you've grown tired of the stench.
Great comments as usual.
i *can't* leave, i'm trapped.
i was talking to my twin sister tonight on how i didn't want to go to the upcoming convention this weekend because we had already been to it 2 months ago... .
i have to prepare some audition matrial for a arts event and my parents are not sympathtic to the fact i got allot to do, and we've already been.
If you sit them down and explain to them that you do not want to be a JW, do not plan on ever being baptized and nothing they say or do will make you change your mind, what can they really say or do?
Well....after making sure he's never held down a job, acting as co-signatories on his bank account to control access to his money, and otherwise stifling any activity other than those that will not interfere with "meeting night" there's a lot that they can, and most likely will do.
Picture this for a 17 year old, having your every waking moment controlled and questioned, long drawn out marathon talks and discussions with elders trying to "fix" your spiritual condition, forced studies because obviously you're troubled and only information from WT publications can fix you, to eventually being kicked to the curb when you don't just shut down your conscious and comply.
What can they do?
Ask the board whatever happened to one of the kid posters, breakingbenjamin.
any one in here who was raised as a jw ever have a problem with bed wetting growing up?
Can this problem in some cases be traced to growing up JW?
Two of my JW relatives had this problem growing up all the way till the time they got married and moved out of the house. It was only then, after leaving the stress of that home and the overbearing hardcore JW father, that they were finally able to overcome not only that problem , but a host of others they had that apparently were directly related to the stress of growing up JW.
i got into a rather heated discussion this morning with my unbaptised but raised jehovah's witness wife.
we discussed so many things: feb 1 watchtower article on 607 and 1914, the un, beth sarim, blood, god's mouthpiece here on earth, etc.
this was yet another attempt on my part to try to plant a seed of doubt.
That my wife still said that we will have to wait for what the brothers say
is proof positive in itself where her primary loyalty lies. What about what the Bible itself says?
With just this one statement, no amount of reasoning from any legitimate source including the Bible would matter to her.
