Hell....if it's in print with the WT logo on it....It's ridiculous.

How has your marriage been affected by leaving the WTS?
by Leander init's been exactly 2 years since i stopped attending jw meetings and it's taken a toll on my marriage.
i expected as much but i guess you can never really prepare for the pain you have to go through when one mate no longer believes in the same things they once did.
i think my wife has honestly tried hard (as have i) to make the relationship work but i think we're both realizing that there are some really large issues before us that will never be resolved.

Wow Leander
Sorry to hear things not going well for you.
I remember and was following your exit with great interest when you'd found that you'd had enough. Back then, I was posting as Out4good3.
A couple of months ago I had a long talk with my wife. We're reaching midlife now, kids are all moving out the house and big changes ahead. I told her that I'm not in the market for a relationship with anyone else and that as far as I'm concerned, I intend to spend the rest of my life with her. I told her that I recognize that our interests are taking divergent paths somewhat, but, I'm looking forward to us doing more traveling, spending more time with each other, taking care of each other, getting to know each other all over again, but that I do not feel compelled to add a religious component to it, especially going back to JW meetings. I let her know straight up that if she felt that if me going back to meetings would be her only reason for holding this relationship together, that we had no relationship per se and that we probably should consider other options.
I think she understood and felt where I was coming from, as she doesn't even bother me with WT related garbage anymnore save the occasional magazine she leaves in conspicous places for me to see. We'lll see where it goes from here.
I'd really hate to lose her....I love her so much, but I just can't fathom having the rest of my life dictated by a WT schedule.

JW Lingo..
by Sassy inwe've talked about this subject several times since i joined this site... .
time and again i will get together with xjws and they still refer for instance to being a jw as being in the truth.. .
i've talked to people who have been out 2 or 5 or even 10 yrs and they still refer to it as that in their conversations... .

I've come to develope a hate for certain JW terms, such as "The Truth", and the word "Theocratic".
Oh...you put into words exactly what I was thinking just a few days ago when I was at a gathering 95% JW. The way they toss around the word "truth" describing themselves is nauseating to say the least.
At the gathering I was at one JW relative talked of how their involved in some type of literacy program and their books of choice....WT literature. Instead of talking about how much progress their literacy students were making in learning to read all they talked about was how much progress they were making in the "trOOf". I was appalled. Ethical standards are beyond these JW's comprehension when it comes to recruiting.

Great letter. I only hpe that if you send it to your family and friends that they actually read if after the first sentence.
As Jehovah?s Witnesses, we are brow beaten to think of Jehovah and Jehovah?s Witnesses in the same thought. Once I realized that Jehovah?s Witnesses are not the true religion much less his earthly Organization, it all made sense. A religion without Jehovah?s backing is no different than any other. So, I am not disassociating myself from Jehovah, but from Jehovah?s Witnesses. The two are very separate despite what the Society wants us to think. My relationship with Jehovah is the same; my relationship with Jehovah?s Witnesses has changed.
Absolutely correct. Once you seperate the two, you realize that it's just another business masquerading as a religion that's no more special to God than any other.

Jehovah is Good.
We speak for Jehovah on Earth.
Only through us do you have any relationship with, access to, or payers heard by Jehovah. At armageddon everyone else is toast......burnt toast.
The emperor (WT) has cloths.
If you think the emperor (WT) has no cloths, reread preceeding statement till you believe he does.
Are you doing enough?
If you think you're doing enough reread preceeding statement over and again, reset your priorities, do more and act accordingly until you die.
Let's see....that should about cover it. -

HOW ABOUT MENTIONING JESUS AT THE MEMORIAL!
by Mary inwell i went last night...........did anyone else notice how the talk focused almost exclusively on the 144,000???
jesus was barely mentioned.
the first couple of minutes talked about when the israelites left egypt and the passover was instituted.

"And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
It does not say "in remembrance of my death". Jesus did not even add "once a year only". His statements did not even imply the things that JW?s attribute to Him.
I was just thinking the same thing when they implied at the service last night that if they didn't do it once a year that it wouldn't be enough and if they did it too much it wouldn't be special. The thought rolled through my mind.....that's your opinion.
***
Rbi8 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 ***the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf 24 and, after giving thanks, he broke it and said: "This means my body which is in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me." 25 He did likewise respecting the cup also, after he had the evening meal, saying: "This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood. Keep doing this, as often as YOU drink it, in remembrance of me." 26 For as often as YOU eat this loaf and drink this cup, YOU keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives.
If he arrived in 1914, why are they still doing it?

I'm never confrontational with my wife and I usually reserve my comments to myself when she starts talking in watchtowerese unless she specifically ask but, Oh....if my wife ever told me something like that, the gauntlet would've been thrown down.....War is Declared.
This was clearly a threat that if you have nothing nice to say you'd better keep your mouth shut if addressing any issue relating to their WT god.
Frankly, I really think that a very serious heartfelt apology is due you.
