one other thing I should mention is WIN 7 has been optimized for SDD in the use of a drive cleaning
program called TRIM, this is what I mention before about you never have to worry about Defragging any more.
I haven't had to worry about defragging for the last 2 years since I moved to Linux. My system was one of the first that shipped pre-installed with Vista. I wiped it off and dual booted Linux with Win2K. I only use Windows for one app. Other than that, I've been a full-time Linux user. While everyone was crying about their slow unstable PCs running vista (and let's not forget about all the virus scares), I've been running the smoothest OS I've ever used.
Windows 7 may be 100% better than Vista, but you still get Windows Genuine Advantage (or whatever they call it now), many Windows-compatible viruses, the need to run Anti-virus and Anti-spyware software (which slows down your system and isn't guaranteed to catch everything), and the inevitable cost of purchasing the OS. I don't miss any of this and won't be 'upgrading' to it. Besides, Linux with Compiz still looks way better :)
