  i had my first real birthday party yesterday.

  call me an irredeemable pagan, but i was massively excited about this, the whole thing was very special, i got a little emotional and i think my friends must have found it a little strange but it was just nice to be creature worshipped.

  when i was a child my parents always used to tell people i didn't miss out by not celebrating my birthday but i did miss out.

  there were many great comments on the " theist/suffering" thread, but terry's really caught my eye.

  its the simplest way to describe what believers do.

  we simply give the "god" of the bible a free pass.

  Yes, god has a lot of questions to answer, many of the psalmists would agree with that. Job got some answers but they seemed a bit of a cop out.

  Can you imagine a JW standing up to pray after a crisis 'my god my god why have you forsaken us?' Wonder how that would go down.

  Raton, birthdays are not specifically on the list of disfellowshipping offences but I do think an active JW who celebrated and refused to repent would be dfed. Probably under brazen conduct.

  I had my first real birthday party yesterday. There was cake, birthday songs and lots of beer (which I'm currently suffering for...)

  When I was a child my parents always used to tell people I didn't miss out by not celebrating my birthday but I did miss out. My parents were generous people and I got a lot of gifts but birthdays are not really about the presents are they? Us born-ins missed out on so much, it's hard not to be angry about that.

  i've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.

  not well at all.

  i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

  Thoughts of summer and ummmmm

  maybe i still have the j.w mentality, but i am seriouse....why on hot summer days do the youngsters wear such gloomy colors?

  it makes little sence,.. o.k maybe they are rebelling, and there hearts are in the right place, but why can't they rebel in cheerful bright orage tea-shirts, especially during the summer months.

  but there you go ugggg beautiful girls in such dark and gloomy colors ...its summer girls make an old man feel glad.. .
