i had an interesting chat with a jw on yahoo messenger yesterday.

of course, he was using "theocratic war strategy," at least at first, and pretended not to be a jw, but someone who was asking a lot of questions about them.

he opened the conversation by asking if i wanted to discuss 'the meaning of life'.

For Brummie

for the past couple of weeks ive been at home whilst dealing with some personal issues and ive had my children in and out of the library wondering what daddy was reading all the time.

well jennie (a very precocious 9) loves looking at everyones avatars.

her favorite is brummies smiling kitty (she was very disappointed minimus stopped dancing).

Will I Ever Belong

I know this feeling too, and I think perhaps everyone feels this way at various times throughout their life.

Our need to belong to a group is a survival instinct. What I have found is that as you get more self assured and confidant and develop your life skills, you will have less need to BELONG and are happy to be a part of something when you feel like it and alone when you feel like it.

Try doing somethings like join an adventure group, or spend a night camping all alone, get lots of life experiences and your self confidence will soar.

Did The Elders Seem Eager To Disfellowship You?

did you ever feel that the elders just wanted you out?

in your experiences with the elders, did you feel "love" displayed at the judicial meeting, or did you sense that you were dealing with, the star of dragnet,"just the facts, please."?

in all the years that i was an elder, i think i only wanted to disfellowship a person once.

The reason I say no, is because when I was disfellowshipped I was 18 years old, extremely pretty and voluptuous and had just turned myself in for committing fornication. They wanted ALL the details of course, and they gave me a LOT of chances to prove I was repentant, it went on for several weeks and several meetings. The chief Elder really had a soft spot for me (and a hard spot too I reckon). The feeling I got from the whole panel of elders was really lascivious. Blahhh dirty old men.

Anyway they would have loved to have disfellowshipped my partner in crime (who is now my partner in life) but he wasn't baptised and they had just done away with the disassociating unbaptised ones.

To make a long story short, I went away for the weekend with the love of my life and they disfellowshipped me right after. I think I wanted them to.

Then like a lamb to the slaughter I went back 12months later.

Idiot. Finally woke up and did a slow fade 5 years later.

wow.. a serious post from animal... who woulda thought..... anyhow, we discussed something last weekend that needs more discussion.

it involves people born into the jw cult versus those that made an adult decision to join it.. my thoughts were:.

anyone not born into the cult have no idea of the mental anguish involved in being brainwashed, from birth, with all the cultisms.

I had a funny (strange) witness upbringing in that I was a witness until 4 years old then my parents left for 6 years (thats right from 1976) then my mum went back with me and my dad was disfellowshipped for smoking.

During the 6 years we were out I would go to meetings with my grandparents in the holidays. This kept a bit of a mind washing grip on me. However I feel I benefited growing up from those 6 years I had out, as I saw that the world was a good place and I had 'wordly' friends. I can also see the difference in friends who were strictly brought up as witnesses, they dont have anything else to weigh it against, I really feel for those of you who were brought up in this religion purely, especially those 'home schooled' I am sure it is much harder to break through the brain washing, I know I have a hard enough time of it. Actually I am amazed you have done it, you must be very strong and positive people.

Here's to being free!

today, i wrote two letters to the united nations and i finally ordered crisis of conscience.

Man charged over child sex tape

Queensland Police have charged a man with five counts of indecently dealing with a child after he was allegedly filmed sexually abusing a young girl.

Police said the 52-year-old man was located at Mt Carbine in North Queensland on Thursday night.

He was charged with five counts of indecently dealing with a child under 12 years of age whilst in his care, and one count of making an objectionable computer game.

Police confirmed the charges in a statement this morning.

The man will face Cairns Magistrates Court later today.

A police spokeswoman said his arrest came after a three-month investigation.

Hundreds of people flooded the police CrimeStoppers hotline after footage of a middle-aged man sexually and physically abusing a young girl was aired on national television.

UK authorities uncovered the footage, which contained background scenery of the Australian bush and showed a magazine.

The footage led them to believe the film was made somewhere in NSW or Victoria.

The girl was on Thursday located safe with her mother in a central Victorian town.

Australian police have uncovered video footage through UK authorities showing a young girl being sexually and physically assaulted by a middle-aged man.

The identities of the girl, believed to be aged between nine and ten with dark hair, or the man are unknown, but police called for public assistance in tracking down the pair.

Background scenery of the Australian bush and a magazine captured in the footage had led police to believe the film was made somewhere in NSW or Victoria.

NSW Police Child Protection Squad Detective Sergeant Peter Yeomans told Channel Nine's A Current Affair police were desperate to find the girl who could be in extreme danger.

"This has came about from an incident in the UK and it absolutely is just a terrible situation where a child is being abused both physically and sexually and even to a point I would say torturing," Det Yeomans said.

He also said it appeared the girl and the man were quite familiar with each other, indicating they may be related.

"From the audio from the video clips it appears that they are related or at least well known to each other," Det Yeomans said.

"He may be a father or a step father or could be just a relative but it appears they know each other quite well."

He said the magazine was dated in the year 2000 but did not indicate that was when the video was shot.

Det Yeomans described the video as the worst thing he had seen in his policing career.

"With viewing the video tapes you can see that she really needs to be taken away from that situation so that we can ensure her safety," he said.

"Our concerns are that this matter is continuing and it is paramount that we find this little girl so that we can get her away from what's happening to her and make her safe.

"... I have never seen anything as bad as this."

The videotape was uncovered after English police arrested a paedophile in the UK and the Australian accents of the two had prompted authorities to contact Australian police.

"This child is very recognisable, someone out there - a teacher or a fellow student - would be able to recognise this child and contact us urgently," he said.

NSW Police said the investigation was being done by the Child Exploitation Internet Unit and asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
