BTS
Don't worry, I feel the love! I don't have a problem with your disapproval, am content to be labelled a sinner (some would say I revel in it) but I wouldn't vote to have you discriminated against because of your choice beliefs.
i have looked at the thread about gay marriages in california and thought about asking this question there, but instead of hi-jacking that one i thought i would ask it here.
there seems to be quite a few gay people on this site and i wonder how many class themselves as christian?
if so, can being gay live in harmony with being a christian?.

And if you think a seminary can screen out homosexuals like bethel can you're deluded. Is there a genetic test or are they just trusting the applicant's honesty?

rampant promiscuity, drug use, domestic violence, depression, infection and shortened lifespan
come on BTS, you can't expect me take you seriously with the above sort of allegation. You might as well apply the above to "Africans" to justify some sort of racist policy through copy & paste. You're arguments hold no water for me, but as I'm irreligious that'll be no surprise.
Good luck and be kind.
i've just read lola28's thread "for those against gay marriage".
i thought i should present a clear message on what i think the gay marriage issue is all about.
the trouble with most discussions on this issue is that it gets clouded by a plethora of side-issues, non-issues, cave-men chest-thumping and medieval puritanism.
Shazard, we're already in positions of political power and as educators, we always have been. Brace yourself for the gay agenda!

BTS lol I'll inform my peers of what's expected of them.

I understand there to be a destructive edge to alcholism, but is there one to homosexuality BTS?

Well Paul, that is a JW definition of a Christian that might merit a bit of mind broadening investigation. The gay friends I have that are Christian belong to high Anglican, Episcoplian and Quaker faiths. I've never forced them to justify their position just as they don't seem to have a problem with my absence of belief.

don't think this should be an option for any christian, gay or heterasexual. Either you accept scripture in it's entirety or you don't. How can some scripture be divine and others not?
Paul, you need to meet more Christians, they're not all so fundementalist. The Christians I'm thinking of would argue that the scriptures reflect their times, and they are no longer obliged to avoid shellfish or silence women. While JWs and a good number of contributors to the board take the bible literally, it's not quite so in the big wide world.
You said you didn't have an agenda but your statement provides a very narrow definition of Christian.

Ta-da! A solution that everybody should be happy with. So why is nobody fighting for that?
Lead the way FD & BTS! But as I guess there would be even stiffer opposition to your proposal, then fighting for samesex marriage is a little easier.
