one could use this same argument about siblings getting married or for that matter a parent their child.
Is this a problem in Illinois? Sheesh!
Your abhorrence of seeing sexualised males would indicate that you are inured to the sexualised nature of regular TV/cinema and advertsing that kids are exposed to continually. But as it's heterosexual it's OK. Should it be? This absolute fear of sexuality that America has is somewhat negated by its huge porn industry, but confusing to us across the Pond nonetheless.

Come on JG, you can do better than that. You've raised the fears of what might happen next if same sex partnerships are given equal status, what are those fears? Is it just about tax?

Welcome to JWD Fishbulb (and all the other homos that have popped out recently, is there something in the water?!) I'm sure the site will help you process through some of your residual hangups. My partner's had to become a bit of a virtual JW and occasionally for a laugh me and my other exJW pals test his knowledge - he's really quite good but the mistakes are hilarious!

who knows what's next?
JG, tell me, what is next? We have civil partnerships here and while there's a limited call for marriage I'm unaware of anything next on the marriage horizon and the sky hasn't fallen down across European countries that have introduced similar legislation. What's different about the States, what malign groups lurk in your communities that will bring the end of civilisation?

Trust me one day America will get with the times
the slippery slope arguement that was mentioned by someone earlier never ceases to amuse me. Polygamy and marrying your pet don't seem to have been percieved as future unions in the UK, but in America... what's with you guys?!

I resigned as an elder in April 2001 and immediately stopped attending meetings but went back 6 months later to see if a fresh look at it would change my mind. Within a fortnight I knew it was all nonsense but I sweated it out for 6 months to make sure. That last six months must have really pissed the elders off - I grew a beard, dyed my hair, shaved my head, wore vintage trash to the meetings, refused to answer, and read the bible through most of the meetings and told everybody what was on my mind. No wonder they marked me.
