  as i do research, i come across other things said by the wts that makes me wonder why i didn't leave then:.

  Rubadub: I find your attitude offensive. It is not necessary for a woman to wear a black leather thong in order to please her husband.

  The thong can be of any material or color. RunningMan, I appreciate your loving reminders and will accept the reproof as presented. Sometimes we are blinded by our own imperfections and weaknesses. I will especially remember these words of council when shopping at the mall with my wife at Victoria's Secret.   Whats the craziest thing you've done at the Kingdom hall?

  i was given the "privilege" to open the kh early to switch on the heating.

  they even gave me my own set of keys.. every saturday night, me and another jw would drive to the kh with our amps and guitars and .

  jam until the early morning, using the stage and the kh's pa system.

  I took down the "One Towel Please" sign off the paper towel dispenser and put it in a stall next to the roll of toilet paper.

  By the way, I made it a point not to shake hands with any brothers that evening.

  Breaking News from the WTS - The Time of the End is Near!

  my jw honey came back from the meeting with this earth-shattering announcement.

  he is prancing around the house with this new-found knowledge that i have not had the priveledge to hear, understand, or appreciate.. got any good comeback lines?

  Thought no one knew the time or hour?

  I have heard that some new light is coming out in the CO visits beginning with the new service year in regards to the "day or hour" issue.

  It seems that while the exact hour is not known, the end will likely begin in the early evening hours, sometime between 7 and 9 PM. This will give people sufficient time to get home from work with some time built in for possible traffic delays.

  i know some have posted similar topics like this, but i thought it might be kind of fun (for the new ones that are coming here in droves) and others, to give some examples of catch phrases etc, that are unique to the jw world.

  here's a few to start:.... "muster up boldness", "sound down into our hearts","satan's crafty acts", "paradisaic", "young ones"," discernment".....these are just a few of the more irritating.

  hi everyone i have just joined this forum and wondered if anyone else has heard of the rule that if you are inactive, which i have been for the last 4-5 years, that they have a new rule of you either become active again or you have to disassociate yourself, or they can disfellowship you?

  is this correct, and does anyone know if there is a time limit that you can be disfellowshipped say up to 5 years after you stop going to meetings?

  please help!

  From what you briefly stated here and have read at other times, it sounds like you want to keep your family relationship (as I do).

  In that case, "stay below the radar." By not attending meetings, something relatively minor could get you in big trouble. Just don't do things that obviously would be "worldly" like Christmas decorations, going to another church, etc.

  It seems to be working well that way for me and my evil, satanic, condemned, Catholic wife. (love her so much)

  No, a person would not be disfellowshipped for simply not going to meetings.

  However, when you get the elder visits and they start asking WHY you are not attending the meetings, that is where the trouble can begin.

  A person would undoubtedly be questioned about belief in the F&DS, the Organization, etc. If you give the wrong response, then there is the issue of apostacy. Or, a person saying that he or she was simply not interested in the organization may be regarded as having disassociated themselves.

  But just not attending the meetings in itself will not get a person DA'd or DF'd.

  Digital Camera Info.

  i've been using my father's digital camera since he bought it last year.

  it's a hp 618 digital camera.

  i use it alot, even too much, so i was thinking of buying my own.

  Oh...I forgot. I know Sony makes a lot of cute, easy to use cameras that are very popular. But my suggestion is to follow Rubadub's advice...stick with those companies that make camera optics like Canon, Nikon, Minolta etc. If they don't make regular cameras, it might not be a good idea to invest in their digitals.

  Not really applicable in this case. The better Sony models have Carl Zeiss lenses, arguably some of the best optics out there. Panasonic is another example, using Leica optics.

  Yes, I failed to mention that Sony and Panasonic use very good lenses. Point well taken.

  I would recommend at least 2 megapixels. If you are going to want bigger that 5x7 inch prints however, then go to 3 or higher. I have a 2.1 Olympus and it is comparable quality to a simple 35mm camera in the 4x6 inch range.

  But megapixels are only part of the equation. I would only buy one from a company that makes camera optics, like Olympus, Fugi, Nikon, etc. The picture will only be a good as the quality of the lens.

  Also, the OPTICAL zoom is far more important than DIGITAL zoom. Digital zoom simply reduces the resolution of the picture: optical zoom retains the resolution for a much sharper picture. Look for about a 3x optical zoom which will give somewhere in the range of a comparable 35-100mm zoom in 35mm land.
