One thing I never understood is why they didn't move the fall of Jerusalem to 587 BC. It would've been easy for them to present it as new light, and given them an extra 20 years to play with. Sure it would've been a major new light, but hey, if it came from the GB, it must be true.

Not only do the eagles have great guitar, they also have great harmony vocals.
I have used Band in a box, but it works different from a midi editor program. In Band in a box, you enter the chords in their respective place then you choose a style and it creates music from the chords you have given it. So if you entered C-F-C-G, the program could play that progression in the style that you chose say country, blues, swing ect.. It sort've builds a song from the chart you give it.
Creating your midi files is a lot of work, since you have to play on a keyboard all the different parts, even the guitar parts. That's why if you listen to a midi file the guitar parts are somewhat cheesy since it's very hard to duplicate the strumming on a keyboard. Works for me since I remove those tracks. Basically I don't bother trying to program songs myself, I just download them somewhere. One of the secrets of midi is to have a good sound module or sound card, usually the sound cards which come with a PC are poor quality compared to pro audio stuff, especially at high volume.
However you seem to be intriged by progressions, Band in a box would give you a quick reference of how these would sound if a band were to play them. It's pretty good actually and relatively easy to use.
For live music, I'm much more comfortable playing bass, I just don't have enough live experience on guitar yet, however I've been practicing quite a bit. Also practicing vocals.

Hate to see a music thread go to waste.....
I've dabbled with music all my life, it's probably the only thing that has been somewhat consistent...LOL
If it sounds right to you, then somewhere in the theories of music there is a law that applies and allows for it. I've bought many books, attempted somewhat to understand and to a certain extent I have. Once in a while I discover a concept and say...."that's interesting"....but most of the time I like to see what I can come up with on my own.
I use midi files to practice. Some midi files are well done so I use those. I use a midi editor such as cakewalk, remove most of the tracks and leave the drums, bass and some non interfering keyboard tracks and I just jam with the song.
Some stuff that I do OK.......Smooth, Sultan of swing, Crazy train, Hotel California, The Wall, One of these nights. ..........and many more...LOL
However I'll try those progressions and substitutions of yours......

Ominous sign
by teejay ininsurgents today killed five people and wounded 18 others after breaching the heavy fortifications of baghdad's green zone, setting off bombs they had carried into an outdoor market and a cafe.. .
initial information indicated the attacks were a suicide operation.
if so, it would be the first time that insurgents have struck from within the heavily guarded compound, home to the british and us embassies and iraqi government offices.. .

Tee Jay,
First I thought the comment on hundreds was part of the source you quoted, my comments were in no way an attack on you or your comments to ridicule them. I've heard these numbers before and always thought they were low.
I live in North America, and always thought that we were not protecting ourselves enough here. To take the most part of the military halfway across the globe is in my opinion a bad decision. They should be here making sure nothing happens. I feel like a sitting duck....
Take care....good comments

tunnels maybe? Takes a while to dig one I'm sure. They could've been at it for months.
But in all seriousness, only 100 terrorists in Iraq before the war? I highly doubt that. The whole army got fired. There were a lot more than 100 with anti-US sentiment and willing to fight. So if the 20,000 is correct, then I suspect at least 5000 were Iraqis. Otherwise, we might as well say we went to war with a bunch of wuss.

Oh no...not me...no distractions.
Actually I thought I was the only one there not spiritual enough as to being bored to death. I thought everyone was digging in the feast...LOL. I was really working hard on my new personality....I couldn't understand why the stuff didn't interest me. Made me think...."I must be really evil to not like the good spiritual food".
Thanks to you guys....I don't feel so lonely anymore.....haha
ps: Oh yeah...the sisters did look quite sexy.....mmmmmm

Haven't been here in a while, haven't been connected to the internet for quite some time. A decision I had to make so I could get work done. Well....the work didn't get done..... I just call it my semi-retirement.....with no money....lol...peanut butter all the way.... Being away from a PC sure is liberating. I guess the internet is sort of an addiction. I was at the University library and thought I'd check my e-mails....lol...talk about spam pilling up.
I think of this place off and on, wonder how Simon's gang is doing. Hope I didn't piss too many people off with my anti-war rhetoric last year. Guess I won't be online either if ever the Tower crumbles, not that I really care if it does or not. Haven't seen a witness in two years (I guess the feeling's mutual.....).
Well..that's it..just wanted to say hi, give you guys a big hug and say that I missed you.
