HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERMITE!
Sounds like you are going to have (or had by the time my post gets here) a good one. I raise my glass of wine to you...! Cheers!
It is my birthday too. Though my Birth Certificate says I was born: 12-13-60 @ 11:58 PM so I am not quite there yet (US central time). Can't say this day has been all that exciting...being alone and all...(but that doesn't make me sad either), though it would have been nice to have my mom or dad call...(hey, I am 42, and guess I should be over that huh?). So for my birthday I am trying to transfer my old computer to a new one. Sounds easy, but it is not as easy as the stupid software says it is....the darn USB cable they "included" does not work with my new system. (I should have been suspicious when I got the software with the "free" USB cable included...I am such a sucker!)
ANyone know how to move data and programs from the "old" to the "new"
HAPPY B'DAY TO YOU & ME TERMITE ...! Hope you have fun! I am. The best present I got today was a beautiful flower arrangement sent from a friend in Germany (and I didn't even know he liked me).....wow getting older is not so bad! Computer migration is another thing!

LOL!
no offense taken and I agree about mr. gates! Like I said, that guy scares me (especially since his charity of choice is the AIDs foundation (or something like that) which isn't a bad thing but it makes me wonder about him...like maybe he got one of his viruses! (disclaimer: I have a wierd sense of humor and nothing I post is meant to offend or validate... all thoughts are random) -

onacruse,
being a MAC user I dont know if I like the WTS analogy (or comparison). Because MACs don't seem to get the viruses that PC's do (or as many)and I find a MAC has a whole lot more reliability (it is honest with it's operating system) compared to the PC (windows OS) where there is a continual
"critical updates" everytime you turn around. FWIW (for what it's worth)...and probably not much! Interesting thoughts though. -

As far as a "accents" go (speaking as a displaced west coast (US) girl to the south), I have no preference other than being able to understand the person I am listening to! southern english (US) can sometimes really be annoying...though it does have it's quaintness to it. I have been in the south for almost 20 years and now hardly hear the accent, it is the "grammer" that really gets me here...it really can be poor sometimes. People are always commenting to me how I don't "sound" like I "am from here", (probably because i can make complete sentances....most of the time) and when they ask me where I am "from" I just tell them: "MARS". Don't get me wrong, I don't think ALL people from the south are bad in grammer, but generally speaking...or listening...southerners DO have a definate language of their own, one of which I am more appreciative of everyday because i realize that is what makes life as interesting as it is...our diversity. After all who am I to judge?

by Gig inwhat is the shortest chapter in the bible?
psalms 117. what is the longest chapter in the bible?
psalms 119. there are 594 chapters before psalms 118, and 594 after.. 594 plus 594 equals 1188. this points to psalms 118:8, which reads:.

"The Memorial is the ONLY JW celebration"
would that be considered an Oxymoron? -

Guess that would mean we could get upgrades on our GM cars (Fords not included)? Because you know sooner or later Mr. Microsoft will have something to do with the OS of Cars and SUVS if he has his way....(that guy scares me).

Not that my post means anything in this thread, but reading about the Memorial brought to my mind a time when I attended a Memorial in 1986. I had been disfellowshipped (from a congregation in another city...of which I had moved out of but never really was informed "officially" by the elders. I only knew i was disfellowshipped from what I heard on the "JW street")...anyway...a few years passed and I wanted "back in" so I voluntarily went to the(new congregatin in another city) elders and told them I was disfellowshipped in xxx city but wanted to get "back in"....(of course they had to get my "papers" from the other city).
yada, yada, yada....I attended meetings for months in this new congregation and accepted the "shunning" as part of my probation...ANYWAY...
I attended The Memorial with my then five month old son and being the really good baby that he was, he never cried during the service or anything. After the talk was over and the prayer was given just before the "emblems" were passed there was this silence...and my lovely son gave the most precious and loud burp that only a five month old can...and low and behold there was a slight chuckling within the congregation and people turned to look to see where it came from...and the elder on the platform said, "well, without anymore being said...." they passed the emblems (don't think I am spelling that right). Needless to say, within a couple of months I was reinstated. That lasted for four years....and why I have "fallen" since then is another story itself and to this day (since 1989) I don't know if I am disfellowshipped or what!
