  i know of two cases of private reproof for child sex offenders and after reading john cedars story, it sicken's me to admitt we actually reproved brothers for porn both private and pubically.

  porn is so minor compared to the horrible sins we covered over, what is wrong with this group of false teachers who are being lead by the blind?.

  today is the day for our special worldwide event of our new tract number 38. luckily our (sales route) sorry... our preaching was rained out.. now you may ask how can i stomach the wt propaganda and be able to take the group out in service, still give public talks, comment, etc?

  Thanks for the clarification, but you never answered by other question. Do you abide by the rule not to associate with DFed ones, especially those convicted of apostasy or who have disassoc. themsleves? That was one thing I just couldn't go along with and had to be real discreet. It was one of several reasons I faded. What about you?

  I've gotta ask! If you are in "the club," that is, you're an elder, how do you deal with DFing someone who's guilty of a "crime" that you don't believe to really be a crime any more?

  If you're not in the club, then do you keep the command not to associate with those who are DFed or disassociated for knowing and acting upon TTATT? If you don't, but secretly still associate with such a one because you love him or her, do you fear the ax coming down on you and thus harming your wife and kids?

  i believe they are.

  i think it's their biggest fear besides dying at armageddon.. there's a saying that anyone who reads ray franz's books is never the same again.

  i think many jw's secretly know that there is information out there that would almost certaintly seriously damage their truth in their religion, and they are terrified of it.. they would rather keep their heads firmly stuck in the sand than even take a peek at critical information that might begin a slippery slope leading to the collapse of their unique worldview.. jw doing their version of the islam prayer:.

  1. Yes, of course, most Witnesses are afraid of apostate stuff. In fact, they are TOLD to be afraid of it in the official publications.

  2. Why do these WT apologists come to this site and post their defenses when they are told not to by the borg? Surely at least some of them must be harboring doubts...

  if a pedophile has cried before the body of elders, is it possible he can be trusted to watch over the sheep and be a valuable tool against satan's hateful apostates?

  nobody is stepping up to the plate to fill the positions of ministerial servant and elder, using pedophiles might take the load off the four elder congregations and give personal needed shepherding calls to single mothers.

  Two questions if anyone knows the answer. 1. Does this statement from the news report mean the existence of this list was made known or the list itself?

  " A database detailing more than 23,000 allegations of abuse was discovered in church headquarters and revealed to the public in 2002."

  2. Is WT lawyer Carolyn Wah still going to the parents of abused children and telling them not to go to the authorities after their kid has been abused or did this procedure stop?

  Was Richard Carrier a Jehovah's Witness?

  i was watching this lecture of him (very nice actually) and he was referring a lot of the bible.

  now he used a bible version with jehovah's name in it and used it quite a lot.

  i was therefore wandering: was he a witness at some point (around 6.20)?.

  I think he is using the American Standard Version of 1901. JWs used this translation a lot prior to producing their own New World Translation in the 1950s. It uses "Jehovah of hosts" and "Jehovah" 6000+ times in the Old Testament.

  Is reading literature a no-no?

  my wife doesn't read literature.

  i think it is such a shame because reading is one of the joys of life so i have been encouraging her but am meeting resistance.

  is there a general prohibition on reading 'wordly' books?
