I tried not to stress over the small stuff. My daughter's room wasn't always neat, but then neither was mine. As long as we both kept the community areas tidy I didn't worry much about the bedrooms. We made chores fun. Moping the floor turned into a dance contest with us twisting it dry on towels. After she went to bed was my time to watch what I wanted on TV, chat with friends and generally unwind.

Judge won't block 'Moment of Silence'
by purplesofa inhttp://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-silence_weboct30,0,4364630.storyjudge won't block 'moment of silence'by jeff coen |tribune staff reporter9:16 pm cdt, october 29, 2007a federal judge on monday declined to block a suburban school district from having a moment of silence as newly mandated by illinois law but indicated a willingness to weigh the merits of the silent reflection and student prayer act.. .
u.s. district judge robert gettleman said he has "some serious questions" about the statute that requires schools to pause at the start of classes each day.. .
"let there be no mistake about that," said the judge, expressing concern with the act's title and possible abuses.. in a lawsuit filed last week, atheist activist rob sherman sought a temporary restraining order to block the moment of silence in township high school district 214 and specifically at buffalo grove high school.

You can take lemons and make lemonade or you can take lemons and sue someone for imposing their dang lemons on you.
ie you can figure the 15 minutes CAN BE a time of reflection for your kids regardless of what the intent of others might be and turn it into something positive or you can sue someone for imposing 15 dang minutes of silence on your kids.

Do Witnesses REALLY Care About Other People?
by minimus ini don't think so.. to me, the vast majority of jws become witnesses because they desire everlasting life.

The bigger question is "do we care about other people"
No disrespect mini, but worrying about others will never make us a better person, it matters not what others do but rather what we do. Things on the outside mean little, kinda like a really well built person that has a terminal disease on the inside, kinda like worrying about whether someone else is investing their money properly.
Who are we too question anothers heart, motives, desires, feelings, attitude and so forth.
Respectfully, abr

What the hell is the MATTER with these people?
by mkr32208 ini work nights so when i get off i'll run by walmart to grab something to make for breakfast or just if i need something or whatever.
this morning at 6:55 (i know because i looked at my watch) a little black girl maybe 7 years old came up to me by herself to offer me a tract... i mean come on it's still full freaking dark out and this poor little kid is handing out tracts alone.
i asked her "where are your parents.

I always read an entire thread before commenting.
I guess you are a better parent than I am, I lost track of my daughter in a mall once. It's happened to other parents I've spoken with as well. Kids do that sometimes they slip away before you are aware of it no matter how attentive you try to be. Maybe that is what happened to this woman. Everything being said here is based on one experience as told by a third party.

I'm curious how did this end anyway? Did you take her over to her mother or leave her in the parking lot alone and unattended?

Wow it's amazing that none of the parents posting have EVER lost track of their kids...not even for a second. Dang.
What the woman did was regretable but it wasn't child abuse. You are judging her based on this one occurance told to you by someone else. As for taking your kids out in the ministry, again, wow, not a single ex jw ever did that either?
~que moral majority to chime in hoping I'm not a parent or call me a JW because I have a differing opinion to them~
