though many millions are still under the spell of ignorance-inducing belief-systems, have you personally noted people in your day-to-day to be less and less involved in religion?.

that's been my experience.

it gives me great hope about the future of humanity.

People see what they want to see. When we were dubs we saw less cars in other religions parking lots....

well on the weekend i get a mistake msn message from an old jw friend that was trying to message someone else so we chat for a bit and she mentions that she has some pictures up on facebook.

so i register up and find a few other friends and in a short order i've reestablished contact with most of my friends from congregations growing up.

each and every one of them is still a loyal witness.

I look at her friend list, then mine. Why couldn't my friends all be DA'd or DF'd?

Infected tooth

last night i experienced an ever increasing sensitivity and pain in a tooth and eventually even touching it with my tongue felt painful.

the gum next to it was also beginning to feel numb and swollen so i realised it must be some sort of infection in the root of the tooth.

it was vital to act fast because this kind of infection can spread fast and cause great pain and perhaps a loss of the tooth so first thing in the morning i went to the dentist, he decided it was a root infection and told me to try antibiotics and if they don't work he would do a root treatment.

I got one on a Sunday. Fortunately I finally found a dentist who would see me. My jaw was so swollen it looked like I had mumps. That has got to be one of the most painful things imaginable. You get any pain meds??? I was drugged up for 3 days while antibiotics went to work on the infection, couldn't go into work. Stupid tooth ended up costing a freakin arm and leg.

Going Veggie

when i was jw, i didn't know any vegetarians.

they had the teaching that god had allowed us to eat animals, so we just eat animals.

no questions asked.. just recently i started to consider being vegetarian.

Just an FYI to the Americans on the bacon buttie issue, Brit bacon isn't like ours it's much less fatty more like ham than bacon IMO.

I should probably eat less meat as both my mom and aunt died of colon cancer. I'm figuring when I get to the island we will probably be eating more seafood then we do here and certainly a lot less beef!

how did being referred to as a brother or sister make you feel?the term brother always reminded me of being in some militant or holy roller religion.

during my tenure as a jehovahs witness, i brought it to the elders attention to refer to .

me by using my first or last name when addressing me.

Seemed weird at first but then I figured out it saved me having to remember people's names so I didn't mind so much.

If Armageddon Is Soooooo Close, Why Does The Society Spend $$$ On Buildings

seems like a waste to me!

I asked about that once and was told the Jehovah probably won't destory these buildings in Armageddon so they will be used in the new system as well.

Not sure exactly what scripture they got that from.....

OT/Fluff: Mineral Makeup users, any good products?

i use bare minerals foundation and mineral veil.

i love these products but they are quite expensive.

i have noticed several makeup companies like neutrogena, physicians formula, almay, etc.

I've seen the mineral makeups but didn't know what was up with them. How do you apply them? Are they better than a liquid?

If it was just that they were taking the questions out of the public WT.........................then why dont they just print separate questions for the pubs and have the same WT for everyone........................but we know the answer to that one right

No actually we don't as it all just pretty much conjecture at this point.

What's the earliest that a person jw or not could receive a copy of the 1/1/08 (or is the jw copy going to be 1/15/08)?
If they only took out the questions in the jw copy, then they would basically be identical if the purpose is to not overwhelm non-jws with jw jargon, "difficult" concepts. etc.

Sounds like that is all they are doing blondie, it will be interesting to actually see a copy though.
