  i am sure i am the only one who will be posting on this thread given america doesn't have the contest and no one else is likely to own up to watching such a shameful debacle!!!.

  i am only slightly ashamed to say i have only ever missed one contest in 31 years and that was because i was in canada.

  i love it - terry wogan is brilliantly funny - and so are most of the acts.. tonight the voting for the british entry begins on bbc1 - given the new enthusiasm for reality/talent shows its getting prime time treatement for the first time in years.

  as a kid was there a particular fictional character that you really wanted to be ?

  or have there been fictional characters in books that you admired or loathed or epitomised a particular quality for you?

  one that springs to mind periodically.. i havent read any dickens for years but some of his characters, even if sometimes a little deliberately one dimensional were portrayed in such detail that the character and the quality become embroiled.

  You pay for the fun and fantasy but it ain't cheap!......(and btw, some girls don't really "work" all that much whereas others do).

  exactly you pay for fun and fantasy....

  and btw some people don't work regardless of the what job they have. (as I sit here posting at work. )

  but usually get offers from girls for them strip for me for free, so money is never usually an issue
