  Women are Not the Glory of God

  no teaching in the bible is clearer, more consistent, than the one which teaches that women are inferior to men.

  below i show that it is taught that the woman was created from man, for man, that man is the glory of god, but woman is not.

  furthermore, the evangelist paul says that he'll not abide women teaching men, and he refers to genesis to explain why.

  That is why I do not believe the bible is the word of god, it is a book of allegory and teachings of history. It is not a book I would dsiregard, but I would never base my faith entirely on one book or one idea. I prefer to get in touch with my inner spirit.

  I can frankly tell you, I am a woman, I am very strong, I am not a weak vessel by any stretch of the imagination... It is a book to be taken with a grain of salt. Find peace with yourself, explore other religions, other idealogies. Expand your minds to what is out there. The possibilites are endless...

  April 19,1995-May we never forget

  april 19 is the seventh anniversary of the bombing of the murrah federal building in oklahoma city.in the light of the more recent tragedies in new york city and washington,d.c.,this is just a reminder that the survivors of this tragedy are still recovering,and still mourning the loss of their loved ones.please,take a moment to remember them in your thoughts.. if you ever have the opportunity to visit the okc national memorial,please do so...you will come away with a whole new appreciation for life,and how truly fragile it is.. .

  I have seen the memorial from the bombing. My cousin also went to see it. She corresponds with a mom that lost her two children that happened to have the same name as my cousins two children.

  For all my survivor fans out there, I just wanted to say did you watch tonights show...What a show. Johnnie boy got the boot. I was hooting and a hollering. I was so glad to see his cocky ass gone. The way they played out the immunity challenge signed his death warrent. It was great, one of the best survivor upsets yet!!!

  by "religious experience" i mean a moment, an incident, where you felt that god was directly addressing you thru a public talk, a watchtower article.

  did god give you a "sign" that convicted you of the truth of "the truth"?.

  I feel I had a momentous experience. It was long after I left the JW, so it was not through any of the mechanisms. I was sitting at a lake at my friends house and there was a blue heron. I sat in meditation and prayer, I knew God was there, I do not know how to describe the feeling but it happened. This is what lead me to the conclusion that being close to God is about being close to your inner spirit

  i learned this from the dental assistant yesterday.

  got my cleaning about 1 month ago and my teeth require a little work.

  1 filling and two crowns, all in a row.

  what do you do when you see people holding the cardboard signs?

  sunday afternoon i was driving to a day spa in seattle for a pedicure.

  i was sitting at a red light and there was an older man holding a cardboard sign.

  Chuck...
  I got that statistic from my training class in working with the homeless population. I also heard the another speaker that came to my mental health class in graduate school, she said that the avg. homeless person is 9 year old child. I think this is striking because we think of all the adults that are homeless, but forget many of the these people have children

  For me, I have begun to really tap into my spirituality in the last year. I have started going to a Unitarian Universalist Church. I also meditate every night. I am reading the Tao Te Ching. I talk walks, write poetry, many things.

  Princess and others...

  That is indeed awful when you see someone in those conditions. There are scam artist, but I know many are genunine. I work at an Information and Referral network and many of our calls in a day are for homeless people looking for shelter. They call us from a pay phone or one of the day stop over centers in the cities. There are limited shelters in the city and they only have so much space. Many times all we can do is tell them the shelters are full and give them the numbers to call themselves and try to get in. The person that came up with that resource packet had a great idea.

  The fact that I found to be most horendous, we usually think of the average homeless person to be older gentleman, when in fact the average homeless person is a 9 year old child. Food for thought....
