Well how would I define spiritual need? That is a good question. For me it is finding inner harmony. Being at peace with myself and the universe. It is having a connection with your soul. When you get that connection, you have a connection to something greater than you. I do not experience that connection all the time, but I had this great experience this summer. I felt so connected with myself that I felt connected with something higher, that something higher is what I call God. I have a need to experience that sometimes. Sometimes I attempt this through meditation, sometimes through readings from all types of philosophical and religious backgrounds. To me that is what my spirtual need is...

What's Your Definition of "Spiritual Need?...
by expatbrit in"spiritual need.
" one of the jw's favourite catchphrases.
"we are conscious of our spiritual need" they say in a self-congratulatory way.. "the vast majority are not conscious of their spiritual need" they say in a condemnatory way, to provide some reason why no one listens to them any more.. so what is it?.

Elsewhere, that is how I started meditating, but I wanting to do some more mindful meditation. I would like to read something and focus my thoughts on that. So I was looking for some guided things to read. I know there is a buddihist monk that writes some good ones, but cannot remember his name.
Thanks to all of you that shared your thoughts..
ISP, what wts overtones does meditation have?

go into your settings and when it comes up for connecting, put a *70 and 3 commas before the telephone number and disable call waiting...

Jedd...I am not an expert in meditation, but there are some simple instructions that can be found at meditationcenter.com They do a good job simply describing meditation. I usually do the mindful meditation or the inner light one. I was looking to find some books that had some sayings I could meditate on. Thanks for the suggestion QCA...

I was wondering how many of you engage in meditation and if so what kind? I went to a new group today that does mindful meditation. It comes out of a buddihist tradition. It was really awesome experience to me. I enjoyed. I think I am going to try to spend some time meditating everyday. I was only doing it once a week, but I think it would be beneficial to do once a day...Any one have any ideas on some good meditation books that I could read and do mindful meditation...

HI there Lydia...I am in the medical field as well. I am in my second year of getting my masters degree in occupational therapy. Where are you a COTA at? I love occupational therapy? What made you want to do it? I had a cousin that had cerebral palsy and I saw a therapist with him and thought it was amazing. I began to volunteer and then worked as a therapy tech. I loved it and it felt right and now i am in school for it and almost done....:)
