Various thoughts and realizations....
by undercover inif a religious organization has to publish an article on why it's not a cult, shouldn't that make you wonder why they have to defend themselves?.
any organization that tells you that you can't trust any information about itself from any source outside that organization has to make you wonder if they are hiding something.. why join an organization, group or club that does not allow its members to leave later without serious repurcussions?
usually one thinks of crime syndicates, political upheaval groups, etc in these situations.

Since leaving how have you changed?
by Joysome inwhat do you find yourself doing differently?.
do you ever feel a little shocked when your opinions on certain things have changed?
things that you were once so adamantly against?.

Joy, I have felt like that alot of times. I am glad you didnt have many bad experiences with the org. Just because you leave doesnt mean you have to be bitter about it. Its good you are keeping a cool head. I was like that for a long time. But as i started remembering things thats when the anger kicked in for me. Things that seemed innocent but looking back they really werent.
Example. I once got counseled for gossiping after letting a sister pour her heart out to me. It was because i shared some stuff with my ex who was an elder. I confided in him because i was hurting for her and he said he wouldnt tell anyone. He then blabbed it without my permission and I was the one who got the counsel. AND IT WAS BY HIM!!!!!!! AND HE DID IT IN HIS UNDERWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Sassy. After being out for a short while, I would get offended when anyone would say bad things about the witnesses. I would get angry reading the things that were being said about them online. I guess I still believed it was the truth but it just wasnt for me.
Now when people say things I add my 2 cents. When I read things about them it brings back bad experiences I had with them. I needed to take a step back and look at things for myself. And that took time.
