  There seems no limit to the guilt trips that the R&F are sent on for the February issue of "Kingdom Ministry" chastises them for spending too much time on housework!!

  "Are household duties...... starting to encroach on time that has been set aside for the worship of Jehovah?"

  The poor people who struggle to get their children ready to attend this "spiritual banquet" (not) !!

  A whole article devoted to castigating the R&F for not having kids ready for the meetings, not working on meeting nights, not spending time on school homework....and so it goes on, and on and on.

  Those poor, poor people!!

  I can safely assure the Society that the housework has NEVER prevented either me or the Czarina from attending the meetings on time.

  It might actually be the spiritual abuse that tends to make us drag our feet until we go out to the pub instead of to another rousing spiritual discussion of "Why the Society Is Always Right, Even When Wrong".

  Ugh. This brings back some not-so-pleasant memories.

  Bottom line, the Sisters? are the ones who are mainly getting slagged with this Admonition?. On the one hand, they get chastised if their homes and cars are untidy and/or the children are not properly outfitted, as it Brings Reproach on the Organization?, and on the other hand, if their homes and cars and children do look nice, they get chastised again for Putting on a Showy Display?.

  In cases of domestic abuse, this kind of damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't flipping back and forth is an emotional abuse tactic that is often used to confuse and bewilder the recipient by keeping them "on edge" at all times. Rather than having clear goals and tasks that everyone understands, the rules keep changing on a whim. The recipient is often so eager to please their partner that they will follow the whims as they come along, only to be blindsided by more whimsical criticism. This kind of manipulative control tactic often leads to resentment and exasperation.

  Let's hope that more JWs end up resentful and exasperated toward the WTS.

  tHAT IS sooooooooo funny.. So funny because it is true..

  My house always looks like a bomb went off. Very lived in by all 5 of us. I can't blame Jehovah on this one.. so Damn you SATAN.. for keeping me on this forum...HAHHAHAHa and not keeping my bathtub sparkly clean.

  I remember as a young teenager listening to a talk at an assembly about how we needed to keep our bathtubs clean. It was real important.. As a 12 year old I sat there really baffled..and kept saying to myself .. We have to keep our bathtubs clean, we have to keep our bathtubs clean. It was so stupid.

  As we know, it's not really about worshipping jehovah. If it was, jws could set up a little corner of a room w cushions etc for worshipping their god. A busy housewife could go there to worship the wt god several times a day. But, elders would not allow that, as all worship is to go to the wt, in the way that the wt instructs.

  oh but make sure your lawns are all mowed and yard picked up so that at least on the outside it appears you have a clean and well kept home to 'worldly' neighbors, so as to bring honor to the WTS

  And this from a bunch of awholes, who inisist that the bethelites, wipe down their shower stalls every morning, and leave their room very clean, so that the housekeeping dept, dosen't have to do too much.

  Well, you know.... if the housekeeping department had to clean up after the Bethelites, they wouldn't have as much time to devote to cleaning up after the likes of Ted Jaracz, JR Brown, Ken Little, Clive Thomas and Glen How.
