as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

my story is posted in the "personal experiences" section of this discussion board and someone responded with and interesting observation.

he said that it's great that i'm now out but that i have 'dues to pay' to those whom i have disfellowshipped and talked out of going to college while serving as an elder.

while serving as an elder i did share in disfellowshipping several members of the congregation, many of whom are still out there being shunned by family and friends.

Just because it doesn't state infatically NOT TO goto college in those posts of JanH, doesn't mean that the intent wasn't there.. The verbage of almost everything the WT does is made to look like you are 'coming up' with your own conclusion while they just present facts.. It's just another trick of brainwashing..

I'm glad to see you didn't fall for it.. That means you must be having some doubghts, as is evidenced by the fact that you are here on this board!!! Congratulations.. I hold much hope for you my friend!

Help!! I am extremely confused.

i'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.

i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.

also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz..

Ray was a member of the governing body... In the book, there is all kinds of things Ray reveils happened to him, or he observed, including the fact that the society itself received unrefutable proof that the date of 607 was wrong, yet the society ignored the fact, because to admit that was wrong would have caused massive credibility problems..

Take it slow..

WT/UN/Self-fulfilled Prophecy?

i was wondering if anyone has been wondering what i have been wondering.

it seems to me the wt likes to read the bible and then pick out scriptures to make self-fulfill.

if they for the last 10 years have been a member of the un as an ngo to secretly recieve the benefits of that position, they are also using the current events to further their image as the "true" religion.

You are right.. I didn't even fully realize it in my previous post..

But if the GB is doing the "spin" move and denying it to the R&F, yet they themselves know the truth, and aren't feeling the "fear of God", then they must know that they are not the chosen ones..

But I will defend William..

I do remember reading exceprts from old Watchtower literature that it was heavily suggested NOT to goto college, for why waste the time learning when you won't need it in the new system.. You should spend your time going out in field service instead..

Maybe someone who has a CD-ROM can find the articles and post them for ya, old...

You sound like you are really helping many people.. I'm quite sure that God knows what's in your heart, and he also knows that everyone is but a single person, and cannot 'do it all'.. Unlike the watchtower, who says do more and more and more to prove that you are a man of "god -- oops, a man of men", god doesn't need works to prove who you are.. He can see into your heart... Follow your heart, but remember to balance your life in the process (Real balance, not WT balance, which as we all know, is unbalanced in the extreme!!!)
