I'm going to The Red Sea, 9th Jan.

quelly I totally agree. The thing was I was so glasd that a non-jw without any experience in the church was there to actually witness this crap. They were far more appaulled and shocked than we were. He even said he hopes some come to his door so he can give them a serious tongue lashing. I think this is the view more people on the outside would take if they saw the extreme lengths that witnesses go to in order to impose this "shunning" tactic.
The funniest part though had to be the brother at the bar with tracts and khakis at a resort literally on the sand of the beach.
I am waiting for my wife to download her picture photos as well. It is so funny

@problemaddict - We drove past the area where the Bethel is there. I did not notice a sign of it being sold etc... but if you look at the conditions in the surrounding area you would hask yourself WHAT THE HELL is this place. Most of the locals say they are no good because they do not do anything for the surrounding community. So much money wasted on Watchtower buildings and they can't help the people right outside the walls???
Yes that person is the wife of the elder I was speaking about. I was walking toward them and waving and she starts to scuddle off in the opposite direction. She turned and looked at me and sped up. It was more of a trot / power walk than actual running to be fair.
My "parental unit" still calls and tells me to just go talk to the elders. Atleast once a week or two. I tell him the brothers are lying to him because I am not avoiding them or not returning thier calls. They have him under this spell that I am somehow in fear of talking to them when it is the opposite. Truthfully as much as I hate the betrayal I realize they are living in complete and utter poverty and that no one is going to help them. I feel bad at times... although I do not give them money... I still make surte via my sister who they still talk to for the moment that they get food and stuff. I will leave things with her and when they come by she acts as if she has extra and they take it from her.

sometimes it is the place to be and i think that's especially true for newbies.

I must say that this site was an amazing find for me at a time that I needed it! I was free to be angry and to voice my opinions on things that no one else would understand. I also recieved support that I am sure I could not have found anywhere else. However, as I remove myselkf further and further from the JW lifestyle I have seen that I am slowly moving away and spending more time on other non-religious based sites. That is not a negative thing I am just at the point that I think the JW anchor will pull me down and back into certain ways of thinking.
I continue too and will continue to tell people to come to this site and receive the same reward from it that I have!
