  do we have concrete evidence of how the pyramids at giza were built?.

  or is this still an unexplained 'mystery'?.

  i've read that the stones used to build these things are monolithic?.

  witness myfury, thanks for your response - i HAVE thought of this.

  the problem is that there is no recorded evidence (that i know of) that this is how it was done, with the earth works and all. I find it VERY strange that there is nothing recorded on these mechanics. Common sense would say that slaves were used, but again, there is no CONCRETE evidence. (please correct me if i'm wrong as i'm dying to rule out a very 'interesting' theory to say the least. )

  so...yes, we have evidence that the pyramids are there, no doubt that they exist. But why is there STILL a debate about how they were put there? Is it not incredibly odd that with all our advances in comprehension, we still do not have ABSOLUTE evidence of this? by the way, im not in any way suggesting aliens or gods are responsible.

  The question posed by the creator of this thread is childishly provocative and contemptously obscene. It's like asking what is the meaning of slowly torturing a child to death? Pay no heed to it.

  on to a more intelligent and constructive response...

  Bad simply put is the combination of two things. One is the processes of nature that deconstruct like decay and the other is tied to sentience and consciousness that can experience such things. Evil on the other hand is tied to motive when related to the context of law and social cooperation and comes from sentience and consciousness. It’s what happens when the physical clashes with that which is not physical. The same is true for good and one step above good which English doesn’t really have a word for that I can think of.

  Bad is what can happen to a sentient consciousness and evil can come from a sentient consciousness. So the meaning and purpose of evil is itself, or rather his or herself. Purpose and meaning can only become real where people exist, particularly in the context of evil.

  yes, i agree very much with you here. it is a very good and logical explanation for the definition of 'evil'. If evil is ultimately 'his' or 'herself', is there a possibility then that it can be done away with? are we not the masters of our own thoughts and conscioussness?

  in the grand scheme of things, that's certainly the case. which doesn't mean we shouldn't pursue and enjoy the good things in life.

  a concept i fully understand. however, there seems to be a disconnect between my pursuit of such good things and the knowledge that others suffer pain, fear and evil.

  there has to be an explanation to this disconnect. to simply ignore the 'evil' experienced by others seems...idk...

  Based on the answers posted,

  'Evil' then is something that just IS, not something necessarily bad.

  However, the minds of the those that were massacred, in Mexico for example, will not get a chance to comprehend and meditate/study/research the wonders of the real world (free of opressive or non opressive religion in other words).

  If the event was random and pointless, then the human mind is reduced to no greater value or worth than mowed grass.

  except mowed grass isn't concscious of this, is it?

  ...something (i'm thinking aloud here) that causes pain and hurt, fear. Like the massacre I aluded to for example. The senseless kiling of another human being by the hands of another cognizant human being. oxymoron maybe?

  how are we able to do this.. this is not an attempt to stir the pot or cause confusion but i was sitting here thinking of all the really horrid things that the old testament god did to people.

  when i was a jw i just purposely put it to the back of my mind always trying to make an excuse.

  when i was in field service and someone would ask me about it i would just change the subject.. however i have been reading alot of info lately here about how wonderful jesus is and how he is a direct representation of what god the father would be.

  Confused must assume that the God of the OT as HE understands him to exist was real. EXCEPT HE ISN'T!!! LOL!

  no! there isn't ANY VALID reason to abuse another human. Except, God of OT (as Confused understands him to be) didn't abuse anyone EITHER!! Becase...HE DOESN'T EXIST!!

  It's like asking, "Is Santa Claus really acting fair when not delivering gifts via chimeny to naughty kids???"
