  My Encounter with a Witness

  well, the other night i had invited a young man to my house to share with him, respectfully, the false prophecies of the wt, using older wt books.

  the conversation started very nicely, with the usual small talk and such.

  i decided to ask some questions, that i knew the answers to, but just wanted to get the gears in his head turning.

  Hey Tina. Well, ever since I got saved 4 years ago God has given me a love for truth, especially Biblical truth. I have had many encounters with JW's and have always just felt so badly for them, being so misled by an organization that is leading them away from Jesus Christ. My desire to reach out to them comes from something deeper than just 'I' could generate, ever! I feel God has put this burden there, because everytime I share with one of them I always vow it to be my last time. And then there is that burden again. Is this a personal ministry? I guess so, although I am seeking other like minded people to help out.

  Julie. What kind of answers are you looking for? I spent much of my time giving answers to an atheist on another board and he didn't want answers. He just wanted to argue. Anyway, if you sincerely seek answers, I would like to help. If you just want to argue, I will pass on that.

  has anyone read the book "hour of darkness" about the guy who 'exposed' the wt for putting subliminal satanic images in their artwork?

  i got a few chapters into it and i just don't really think he has much of a case.

  Where are the People of God to be found today?

  who are the people of god, where are they to be found.

  i feel that there are some within the watchtower organization as there are in other churches.

  Bobsgirl. I offered an invitation to Buddha to discuss spiritual matters over the email. Perhaps you would be interested. I think *true* Christianity is very much the spirituality you are looking for and you also do not have to turn your brain off. It is logical and relative to what you see in your day to day life. Anyway, just a thought!

  Ray, I really appreciate your insight and kind words. They are such an encouragement to me. I know of Steve Hassan, and his book is on my wish list at Amazon. I will buy it soon. I have been engrossed in WT literature and reading books about cults and mind control and such. Eyebrow and slipslide, thanks for the suggestions.

  Buddha wrote - I am declining at this time as I have grown tired of rehashing "Jesus" over and over. I do beleive what the Bible says regarding belief as a matter of " faith ".

  My friend, nowehere in the Bible does it ask anyone to put their faith in something that is not absolutely provable or a certainty. There is no such thing as 'blind faith' as far as pertaining to Christ. As if God was saying "Well, there really isn't evidence but I want you to believe anyway'. That type of structure is totally foreign to the Bible.

  You also wrote - Perhaps if there were sound facts in the Bible or secular records that Jesus is the way, than maybe I would be sold on this one concept.

  Come on man! How can you turn me away from showing you evidence and then say that you would believe if there *were* evidence. All the things you look for as far as evidence you can find with the Bible. Secular history and archaeology both are in agreement with scripture. You want proof? Please humor me and I can give you plenty.
