"The Finished Mystery" - William Miller, a member of the "little flock"
by EdenOne inwiki: "william miller (february 15, 1782 december 20, 1849) was an american baptist preacher who is credited with beginning the mid-nineteenth century north american religious movement now known as adventism.
among his direct spiritual heirs are several major religious denominations, including seventh-day adventists and advent christians.

"New light" and BLOOD ...
by EdenOne ini just had a flash in my head.. in the wt 07/2013, the "new light" is basically saying that there was no appointment of a faithful and discrete slave in the christian era until 1919. if this is true, then no "spiritual food at the proper time" was served after jesus' resurrection, for over 1886 years.
that means that the decree of the "apostles and older men" in jerusalem, recorded in acts 15:24-29, isn't "food at the proper time", and shouldn't be mandatory for christians.
this includes the order to "abstain from blood".

John 3:16 - "EXERCISE faith"...??
by EdenOne inthe nwt often uses the expression "exercise", when it comes to the expression of faith.. "a notable use of that is in john 3:16 - for god loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.".
i started to be intrigued by the expression "exercise faith".
it is true that james wrote that "faith without works is dead", meaning that faith must be more than just an inner feeling or an oral statement; it must be evidenced by works.

The "lost" disciples...?
by EdenOne inquestion:.
1 corinthians 15:4-6 "[jesus] was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, and that he appeared to cephas, and then to the twelve.after that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time".. .
acts 1:15 - "in those days peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty)" .... acts 2:1 - "when the day of pentecost came, they were all together in one place...".

1984 ...
by EdenOne in"talking to her, he realized how easy it was to present an appearance of orthodoxy while having no grasp whatever of what orthodoxy meant.
in a way, the world-view of the party governing body imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it.
they could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening.

"Sit at my right hand" - WHEN?
by EdenOne ini recently started thinking if there could be a way to refute the entire 1914 doctrine without having to go into discussing chronology - like proving if jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce or not; if the "gentile times" have anything to to with the kingdom; if "7 times" are really 2520 years"; if those are solar years or lunar years .... and i came to this conclusion: nothing of that matters!
when will the lord sit at the right hand of jehovah?
therefore, the fulfillment of psalm 110:1, when the lord sits by the right hand of jehovah god took place sometime between 35 ce and 60 ce.. .

So what exactly is GB 2.0 ?
by EdenOne ini've seen it mentioned by several people here, this expression "gb 2.0", but somehow i'm not entirely sure what is meant with it.. i tend to read it as governing body version 2, as in "post-milton henschel governing body", that is, when the governing body became separated from the board of directors from the watchtower society, or when the wts no longer had a member of the gb as its president, i.e.
the end of the "president's era" in the wts.. is that your understanding also?.
but in that case, with the death of russel and the takeover from rutherford, wouldn't that be also a watchtower 2.0 of sorts ?.

INTOLERANCE
by EdenOne injehovah made man a free agent, holding him responsible for his intelligent acts.
jehovah never prevents man from expressing his mind.
intolerance does not at all apply to jehovah and those who faithfully obey him.

Luke and the other gospels before
by EdenOne inthis week's bible reading started me thinking ... luke 1:1-4.
"whereas many have undertaken to compile a statement of the facts that are given full credence among us, just as those who from [the] beginning became eyewitnesses and attendants of the message delivered these to us, i resolved also, because i have traced all things from the start with accuracy, to write them in logical order to you, most excellent theophilus, that you may know fully the certainty of the things that you have been taught orally.".
now, the gospel of luke appears to have been written before acts, sometime between 56-58 ce.. in the above introduction, luke mentions that "many" (not just one or two) "have undertaken to compile a statement" ( "to compile a narrative" - english standard version; therefore, more than just the description of isolated events or isolated "wisdom sayings".
