Recepitionist called me over and there he was. he told about annual meerting and grey bible....etc. I said I never received an invite, he just shook his head and said sorry. He did mention something really interesting: He said that one of GB members mentioned in his talk that in the near future "special instructions" may be given from the platform and the friends are to keep this info. Confidential. He said no details were given, but it highlighted the importance of meeting attendance. Is this just a scare tactic to keep the friends constant at meetings or is this aimed specifically to deal with faders? Hmmmm

I feel for these friends. The economic situation is horrible in their homeland, their only option is coming to a foreign land. Yet, being in a cong. with a couple known illegal aliens, these were some of the most "Christian like" of all of the friends. You need a last minute part in the school ask on of these friends, they would be happy to do it. Yet, some of the "American" friends were really quick to point out the words/sentences they got wrong. Suddenly everyone was an English teacher. They were never invited to the "nice" get togethers, like 80's night, fishing, etc. just the mandatory public speaker/service group dinner. I remember one memorial night, an elder invited all the elder and MS's to a fancy dinner at his home, I invited this brother Enoc (from Africa) the elder had this shocked look on his face we showed up together. I said, he didn't have any plans so I invited him. Later, that elder gave me a tongue lashing for inviting him. I said brother, who did Jesus say to invite if we have a banquet? Why did Paul feel the need to correct Peter when he only sat with Jews? He said NOTHING, but if looks could kill I would not be here right now. Lol

That is correct. You are unable to serve in any capacity. (Elder, MS, pioneer) etc. But you are able to go to FS.

So I ran into an old friend (elder) from the hall at the supermarket. He started off saying how much I am missed at meetings, etc . Then he asks if know what happend to sister Gomez. He said the sister has been out of a job for months and the friends can find a proper place for her. (She's been staying with the same 3 families in 5 day intervals) quick backstory: sister Gomez is blind in one eye and is not here in the US legally. She is the sweetest person ever, she always went out of her way to show her love for the friends. What really makes me sad and angry is when he told me that she called the PO the night before being evicted and he told her he was sorry but no congreational $$$$ support, and to trust in Jah and the friends. Ironically this brother has a huge home with plenty of space for sister Gomez, yet his family is not one of 3 that is actually helping.

by minimus ini would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .
and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..

Leolaia. I haven't read any of her posts lately. She could teach a course in Biblical history at any major University. I enjoyed reading all of her posts but the one about Jesus dying on Cross vs Stake was AMAZING!

Especially about the jump start.
I was a target about 2 weeks ago, and my car wouldn't start. I swear to you I see a "brother"walking to his car, he sees me and make a quick left. I call out his name and ask for a jump. He keeps walking away and eventually heads back into the store.

Thanks for the response.
She never really understood how a goup of men in NY are brothers of Christ and they will (from heaven) "bring the Thunder" (as Kings) in a near future. To her Christ is the head and we are ALL underneath. The outside of the BORG friends has been tough for her too, but the fact that most of her friends has stopped looking for her since she left the meeting has worked in my favor.
Slowly but surely, the scales are falling off.

Hey guys quick update, my wife has also been inactive for many months. She has some serious doubts about the BORG. We've kept up with our bible reading and I've been trying to plant seeds of TTATT using the NWT. I don't want to risk busting out COC or one of Steve Hassan's books. (I got them mailed to my work address) We've talked out how to be a true follower of Christ one must be baptized in the name of the father, son and holy spirit (not the 2 questions that the BORG asks us) I've also talked about Stephen and how in his last words he said "Christ, receive my spirit" NOT Jehovah.
Any ideas on what we can talk about next?

Mom & Dad (Uber Dubs) and convo about child abuse within the BORG
by El_Guapo inso i tt mom and dad via skype last weekend (they live on the other part of the county) and the topic of abuse came up.
of course they went ahead and blasted catholics for their coverups.
i mentioned gonzalo campos, now mom and dad know this guy he went to their hall for several years in san diego.

My parents are in San Diego, in the Spanish. I'm on the East Coast. My dad knows the elders here because when he has come to visit he has gone out to fieldserivce with a couple to get the scoop on my spiritual health along with my wife's. My dad has been an elder for many years, but he is a spy. I have to be very carefull what I say around him because he does stay in touch with our congregations elders.
