Should Jehovah's Witnesses Be Allowed to Adopt Children?

but knowing what you know now, if you were part of the decision-making process, would you be inclined to facillitate jw's to adopt?

But knowing what you know now, if you were part of the decision-making process, would you be inclined to facillitate JW's to adopt? Or would you discreetly steer things in another direction, knowing the difficulties that children of JW's will experience?

Just a few of the factors: the blood issue, the anti-higher education views, the high-control and guilt JW's face, the lack of social development.

PO said automation and declining contributions reason for Bethel layoffs

last week at the meeting, the po, who has very close connections to bethel, said that he never thought he would see the day that bethelites were being sent home.

he said that the biggest two reasons he thought bethel were cutting back, was automation and a massive decline in contributions.

looks like you're right metatron about the contribution aspect being their achilles heel.

hi folks, .

after 7 months out of the cult and my 20e birthday approaching (next week) i sorted out what i would do with my life.

after i exited the borg i thought about various plans like touring the world or infiltering the congregation and fight the borg or becoming a professional musician (music is a hobbie for me).

Governing Body member Gerrit Lösch spoke at my District Convention

gerrit losch (it's pronounced kinda like "lirsh") did two things at our dc (portland, or june 30-july 2).

he released the new book about the minor prophets, and he gave the closing talk, the one with the resolution in it.

first of all, losch was not promoted to the governing body because of his speaking ability.

my wife and i were both on ladders painting the exposed boards of our storage shed on a weekday when a car pulled into the driveway across the street.

mr. and mrs. gomez were not at home.

like most of the homeowners in this community, they use these homes only on weekends or holidays.

I understand your frustration and what your life experience tells you. Your remote determination that my visitor was full of it is understandable. My impression was much different, though, and generally my bs meter is fairly sensitive. Actually, he did not play down the pedophila among JW's at all, but instantly agreed and offered up a personal example.

I think Spanish JW's are able to develop better social skills. Perhaps, in a way, they are not so Puritanical. I disagree with many anglo elders who try to explain away the growth of the Spanish by implying they have lower moral standards. Just an observation: Some on the board have written about the "goodie night" tradition at some book studies in the U.S. When that custom hit the Rio Grande Valley, it became a full-blown fiesta with enchiladas, mole', menudo, guacamole, etc.

I can't predict what Frank will do. Normally, Jehovah's Witnesses do not back up and see someone else's position. At times when folks discuss strongly held views, they well up with emotion. That was totally lacking in our conversation. It was quiet, reasonable, respectful. As Frank left he turned and said he had one more question. Did I think that the world's governments would ever turn on religion? I mentioned that some already had, like the former Soviet Union and Mexico, but now seemed to have reached a certain consensus. In most countries, I thought that the governments used religion as a tool and there was no need to turn on something so useful. Frank just listened.

I simply neglected to mention that the first group pulled out of my neighbor's driveway before calling on us. Their incentive to pull into the neighbor's driveway initially might have been the fact that our road is very narrow with steep shoulders.

Neither group did anything out of the way. Both groups were outstanding representatives of Jehovah's Witnesses, just as most of us were in the past.

Actually, I'm somewhat surprised no one has commented on the absurdity of the English group inviting us to a religious convention so far away. Since our area is so remote, I'm assuming they covered their entire territory with these invitations as the Watchtower Society had advised.

I certainly liked Frank, too. He was open, unpretentious and someone any organization would be proud to have as their representative. Frank mentioned that he was 33 years old. I did not tell him that I have a son that age.

Something I neglected to mention. I asked him if his God treated everyone in the same way or did he favor big shots? When I mentioned two capital offenses it the Mosaic law, instantly he said: "You're talking about David! I told my wife if I ever see that guy I'm going to chew him out. No excuse for what he did! The man he killed fought for him!" I said yes, but Jehovah, orchestrated the punishment, and decided the adults could live, but the baby had to die." Frank just shook his head.
