Normal people don't give a darn if you're a witness
by XBEHERE inthis was posted on exjw reddit, check it out if some of you never have.
https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/13q6k5l/normal_people_dont_give_a_darn_if_youre_a_witness/ .
i find this to be the case, people in general are so not interested in religion that they really could care less about jws.

I left school when I was 14 and started work and was still in the same job when i was converted because of a workmate when i was 19-20 yrs old.
I had a few more jobs before my last employer ,never held back that I was a JW and never ever pushed the religion on anyone and never had problems with other workmates or any of my bosses, even though some were religious themselves,
I retired when I was 68 and was able to buy my own home where i still live with my wife of 63 years .
I`m 84 this year .
As the title of this thread says ,I didn`t know anything about JW`s before I was contacted and never even heard of them until then.

What`s the reason some of you think JW`s are in decline ?
by smiddy3 infrom what i can see no such thing is happening.i became a jw in 1960 and remained for about 30 years and the numbers of active jw`s today in the world are far greater than they were back then.. and here in australia the numbers are much higher than they were back then .. so i don`t see that their in decline or have any worries about losing support .. don`t the numbers speak for themselves ?.
is it just wishful thinking on your part ?.

A New List of the J Versions and Where to Find them
by pizzahut2023 inhi!i am doing a very long and exhaustive study of the "j" versions, based off the new study edition of the new world translation:https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/study-bible/appendix-c/divine-name-new-testament-2/.
this list has about 300 sources, mostly bibles, that the jehovah's witnesses have used to "justify" their insertion of "jehovah" into the new testament.i am doing an excel spreadsheet of where to find digitized copies of these j versions and then some notes on them.. they contain some really interesting renderings, some that would make a jehovah's witness's head spin!for example, in j29:the original aramaic new testament in plain english (an american translation of the aramaic new testament), by glenn david bauscher, seventh edition, australia, 2012which you can find here:.
http://buffaloriverforge.com/peshitta/nt%20peshitta%207th%20ed%20plain%20text%20unnoted.pdfin luke 2:11 it says:.

JW Dogma Analysis For Lurkers & Faders to Consider
by The Fall Guy inthis post is necessarily lengthy, but my hope is that these 14 examples of wtbts dogma will be examined closely by those who either have something to gain by doing so, or those who can provide "new light" for any of the topics.. "however, you may say in your heart: “how will we know that jehovah has not spoken the word?” when the prophet speaks in the name of jehovah and the word is not....true, then jehovah did not speak that word.
you should not fear him.
" [the prophet] (deuteronomy 18:21-22) .

Anybody like to abbreviate this post key points to help others still trapped in the borgs so called "New Truths" shenanigans.?
The fact that we are now living in the year 2023 should wake up a multitude of old timers that the GB of JW`s dont know, and have never known what they are talking about.

To All Those Keen To Tell Us About Their Beliefs
by Simon inwe seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.
they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?
) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

Isn`t Simon just talking about other religionists who want to voice there opinions and take over the discussion here ?
“ The site isn't here to host your bible diarrhea, so please don't bother - you're just going to be wasting your time.”
Or have i got the bull by the tale ?

Didn`t someone once say something like the Bible is an instrument that anyone can play a tune on to whatever they fancy ? or something along those lines.?
I have lived a long good life ,i don`t need a bible to tell me how to live ,and I dont need a bible to teach me about morals that I already have,

Top AI inventor Geoffrey Hinton reluctantly concluded that AI will probably humanity fairly soon
by slimboyfat ingeoffrey hinton, major inventor of artificial intelligence: .
“if you take the existential risk seriously, as i now do—i used to think it was way off, but now i think it’s serious, and fairly close—it might be quite sensible to just stop developing these things any further, but i think it’s completely naïve to think that would happen.
there’s no way to make that happen.

"I can’t explain the reason why AI poses an existential risk in anything like detail required"
And I don`t believe anybody else can either..
I think that`s all that needs to be said on the subject

Good video
by joey jojo inhighly recommend this video from youtube.
really well researched.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeggkcpkuve.
it has an interesting section about the un and jw's involvement and its good to actually see the un letter concerning jw membership still on the un website.

That`s all very interesting and a blight on humanity .,inexcusable .
What needs to be done is fix these situations by a world that can unite to doing so.?
However, believing in a pie in the sky alternative as the Jehovah`s Witnesses would have you believe ,is no answer.
Armageddon ,New system of Things , New World , etc, etc. are all just pipe dreams with no relevance in the real world.
They have never happened and will never happen. And the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses know that ,but will never tell the rank and file JW members ,because that would be the end of their religion.
So it`s in the religions best interest`s to keep that belief that Armageddon /New World is just around the corner ,and keep the believers thinking that it is just around the corner ,any day soon.
