interestingly, newton(brilliant mathematician, everyone must know him) was very interested in the bible and revelation .. .

what newton tried to do was determine a particular timescale for the apocalypse.

The biggest mistake Sir Isaac Newton made was beleiving in the Bible as truth of GODS word.

So don`t hold your breath about 2060 or any other date that anybody comes up with.

isaiah 43:10. in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god and the word was god.

We can’t comprehend a being without beginning and cause because we exist in space and time, whereas God transcends all that.

That still doesn`t explain how only one (1) and not many more exist ?

I still can`t get my head around how their can be only one GOD ? If such a being exists in the first place . If by however means one (1) GOD came into existence it defies beleif / logic that there was only one (1) ?

If it happened once it could happen again ? Either in the past or sometime in the future ?

Doesn`t this make sense ?

Or am I alone in my thinking/reasoning.

we all know that jws consider the wt religion to be "the truth" and refer to it as such.. granted, that phrase is used repeatedly in the literature and from the platform.. but it's obvious that much of what the organization used to require jws to teach house-to-house as important truths--even within our own lifetimes--has been abandoned.

it's been replaced by "new light" and "refined understanding.

what's meant by "the 1914 generation" is a prime example.. in fact, i think it would be hard to find another religion that has changed so many of its teachings, especially in such a short period of time.. so why do jws still believe their religion to be "the truth"?.

And yet the 1st edition of "Aid To Bible Understanding" claimed that Yahweh was probably the more accurate pronunciation of God`s name but the GB settled on the name JEHOVAH because it was the most popular name in use ?

In use by whom I ask ? why christendom of course ?

So they just followed christendom`s religions and not what was the more accurate pronunciation.

Yes ,for the judging of evil by the appropiate authorities , and according to the Bible the authorities are to be obeyed because it is an arrangement of GOD.Rom.13:1-7

What was that quote from a catholic I heard many years ago ?

It went something like this : "Give me a 6 year old and I will give you a catholic for life"

It`s all about indoctrination. repeat, repeat, repeat, over and over again.

And to this day it irks me when someone refers to the JW religion as " the truth" whether it`s ex JW`s or otherwise.

It seems inconceivable to me of what we now understand the size of the universe that their isn`t life somewhere else in the universe ,it just doesn`t make sense .

Whether such life exists in our solar system is yet to be determined maybe ? maybe not.

And if such a thing as GOD really does exist it is also inconceivable to me that earth is the only place considering again the size of the universe as we understand it today to be the only place where life in some form exists .

let me explain :.

after the creation account of the bible, tribes of people and nations began to form and spread around the land.. god first chose noah and his family to protect them as he destroys all others in the flood.. and he ticks off everyone in babel ?

and then he favours abraham and his descendants as the nation of israel culminating in the jewish lineage to jesus the son of god.. he has never had any dealings with any other people`s or nation isn`t that some form of favouritism ?

Bible says that the Jews were his last choice so it seems he first reached out to others but no good.

My point is GOD only dealt with one tribe of people and chose them as his nation / people whereas other tribes and nations never got this same favouritism .

In fact GOD actually supported Israel in wars against other nations .

GOD never gave all of mankind the same treatment he gave Israel he judged them without giving them the same opportunities he gave to Israel.

It was never a level playing field as the saying goes.

You said it : Having feelings of empathy and compassion you may go out of your way to try to help someone with bad traits hoping that they will respond to love.

He didnt do that with these other tribes of people or nations.
