Indepentant Bible Study w/o WTS!

(acts 5:29) in answer peter and the [other] apostles said: we must obey god as ruler rather than men.. (revelation 22:18,19) i am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: if anyone makes an addition to these things, god will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, god will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.. anyone who seat himself in the seat of moses is condemned.
anyone that follows such a person is condemned.. anyone who change gods' word is condemned.. condemned by whom?
the almighty god jehovah.. get a life, and get over it, "all those that condemn"!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, but I do have one question (I am new to the whole "thinking for myself thing" still). Wouldn't their studies still be greatly influenced by that certain Churches doctrines?

I do hope this post was in jest (as I am still learning everyone here) but if not:
The only problem I have with the "members" are that they are blinded. It is not really a problem, nor is it "my" problem. I do feel sorry for them and wish they could just lift their veil to see truth. As for the WTS, they are the ones lying to the r&f and to the world. They are the ones altering the Word of God (ever wonder why the discourage reading any other Bible translation? Because they don't match up). I find that the violence and the emotional abuse that is allowed to happen in the WTS is disgusting. And I know of this happening, not by heresay or the iNet, but from personal experience, as do many others that have left.
Don't knock it unless you've tried it.
I've tried your way and it was harmful to my physical, mental and emotional health and happiness. Maybe you should try it "our" way and then, only then, can you try to "condemn" us.

Actually, at this point, I haven't a clue. Which is why it would be nice for those of "us" in my area to be able to meet together. Much like the independant study groups in Bethel during the 1970's. I would love to hear what other ppl's views of the Bible are without the WTS's influence (which is hard to fight). Maybe by reading it verse by verse and searching for true meaning. I find it hard to do it alone and having others involved would be a great help and we would have each other to lean on and to learn from.

I've been interested in studying the bible, independant of any WTS publications. But I am at a loss for where to start. Also, I have no one, really, to discuss things with, such as what I'm finding or reading. No one else so I can "Pick their brain" or we can "pick each other's brains". Is there anyone else here in the Canton Ohio, USA area who would be interested in possibly starting a group? Not to discover a new religion, or to find one that already exists, but to help sort through the weeds and the wheat of the Bible and figureing out what really is the truth and what is not.
