My fade was going fine until they started pestering me. They were saying 'we love you' and 'we want you back' so I knew they wouldn't give up and every CO visit I'd be getting discussed about or I'd be looking over my shoulder worried I'd get caught doing something I shouldn't be by them, living like that in my opinion was living by their rules. So I wrote a very simple letter saying I don't want to be known as one of them, and dont contact me.
The relief cannot be described, and it's a plus I no longer have to engage in conversation with them anymore.

If you are thinking about "Stepping Down" you better do it QUICK!
by Comatose inthe new arrangement for co's to handle deletions (and appointments) means you no longer will be able to give your friends on the body an excuse and step down.
you will have to answer to the co and most likely have a long uncomfortable chat about everything with him in order to step down.
so if you have been thinking about stepping down, you need to do it quick before the new arrangement..

I find this 'new' arrangement odd to be called 'new'. When I handed in my resignation about 3 years ago the Bethel wrote back to the local BOE to tell them to wait until the CO came next, sure enough he spoke with me, I said what I needed to say without causing suspicion.
Why fear a CO? He's only another cult member, most are burnt out themselves.

I'm glad your son is still happy, you have clearly worked hard for his happiness. No matter what his mother did or will do she is still his mother. Be happy for your boy, be there for him as you always have.

Nice update. Patience is a virtue, for me though it's all or nothing. I was never scared, a bit hurt though that's down to being so annoyed and angry at myself for having taken the crap for so long, I've always been lonely but have a couple of amazing friends now I can turn to if I'm too lonely.

Good on him, it's weird how the speaker carries on without any acknowledgement, just keeps droning on.

Hey....where's my invitiation ???
by exwhyzee ini was in my company truck again today, pulled over to the side of the road in a neighborhood, doing some measuring and looking for some survey markers.. a group of jw's were working their way down the street toward me.
the 2 middle aged ladies were smartly dressed, one had brightly colored highly styled auburn hair and was wearing large noticeable jewlry.
the brother was late 50's hispanic also smartly dressed in a black top coat and seemed like he might be elder material.

The Governing Body told two Elders to call !!!!
by Phizzy ina friend from the other end of the country just 'phoned and told me that a couple of days ago two elders knocked on his door.
he has been out for four or more years.. they told him it was c.o's visit, and the governing body have asked them to call on those whom they no longer see at the k.hall.. i guess this is an easier "field" than knocking on doors that never open, or where they are told "not interested".. my friend bill though, was not such an easy call.
apparently he managed to get in about 1914 being rubbish, the bible not being the word of god, because we cannot trust it, 1919 being rubbish as to the choosing of the fds and several other telling points.. i liked particularly that he said to them they were rather hypocritical asking householders to examine their faith, when jw's were simply not allowed to !.

The one time the elders showed any interest after I left/faded they parted with 'we miss you and hope you will come back one day'. I didn't want them to feel like that and certainly never wanted another conversation with them, which is why I DA'd. I'm sure your friend won't get any more 'friendly' visits.
