Why should God answer a prayer to get a job while atrocities happen everyday?
by BU2B ini had a conversation yesterday with my wife, who seems to think every good thing that happens to her just has to be jehovah, and every bad thing, she just knows is satan.
this irritates me to no end.
i told her yesterday that i have trouble praying to have relatively petty thing resolved in my life, meanwhile around the world, many people are raped mutilated, tortured, and killed everyday.

Mega-rich sports stars thanking god for their latest victory makes me want to hurl.
Seems to me that god is the worst multi-tasker ever. He's far too busy making sure his favourite sports stars / teams are doing well instead of, say, curing childhood leukaemia.
Pathetic.

I never tell anyone I used to be a jw. EVER!
I find it too embarrassing. I consider my time as a jw to be a character flaw on my part.
Congrats and good luck with your new job btw.

What do you think about this definition of Oriental at the Urban Dictionary?
by Iamallcool inoriental .
something or someone hailing from the orient.
absolutely not an offensive term, only considered so by the uptight, ultrasensitive pc crowd in america.

Just a term for something or someone from the east.
It's the opposite of "occidental" meaning from the west.
No biggie.

Inviting CO over and they refuse
by A question inhas this happened to anyone else?
you invite the co for dinner (or some other thing) and they say they cannot.
i can understand why, i suppose, since depending on how popular they are, maybe they have to turn down some invites to have personal time, but still wondering how common that is..

Don't invite them.
Problem solved.

Using the word Father far more intimate than saying Jehovah?
by BU2B inthis was one of the things i thought about while i was beginning to think for myself.. who has the more intimate relationship, the coworker of a man who calls him by his first name, or his child who calls him dad, or papa?.
all the emphasis jws put on jehovah blinds them to this simple truth.
what if one of us walked up to our father and said, hey bill!

The logic of this thread is simple and extremely powerful.
The whole world can call your parents by their first names, but only you (and your siblings) can call them mum or dad. It engenders a special bond, a "we're all in this together" closeness.

Jesus: The latest Myth in the history of Sun-God Myths
by VivaVegas ini wanted to share with you all information that you may find helpful in your quest for real truth as it pertains to god and religion.
"jesus" is just the latest sun-god in mankind's long history of sun-gods.
a belief-system which in itself stems from mankinds first true religion, worship of the sun and stars.

Theory on how Egyptian pyramids were built
by Monsieur inthough it was impossible to transport massive blocks when building these pyramids, would it not make more sense that blocks of clay were formed and shaped (one or more at a time), waited to dry and hardened, then continue with the next one or two blocks?.
wasn't this how the egyptians made anything?
(clay and so forth?).

Tagging the Egyptian monuments is a fine tradition stretching way back before Alexander the Great's time. Except they used to do it with a chisel!
