  .......i just noticed your post........can't say i blame you for thinking that.

  i mentioned i'm currently an elder and don't plan on leaving the organization...........but i probably won't be an elder much longer......as i'm not exactly the "ball of fire" they want.

  (((dothemath))) Don't let these naysayers rush you into something you're not ready for. You are the only one who knows your situation, and no one has the right to call you hypocritical; particularly as you've already stated that you won't likely be an elder much longer, based on the fact that you wouldn't want to preach things from the platform that you no longer believe to be true. (Did the lynch mob miss that???)

  Let it happen at your own pace. I think you will leave eventually, but you're the only one who knows for sure. I hope you can realize that you don't have a "time limit", eg. Armageddon, to make your decision. I will keep you in my thoughts.

  Black BUT Comely?

  ..in town earlier today, i was walking towards a black lady who gave me a dazzling smile as we passed each other.

  she was a beautiful looking woman, and for some reason the old bible verse from song of solomon came into my mind: "i am black, but comely, o daughters of jerusalem, as the tents of kedar, as the curtains of solomon.

  look not upon me, because i am black; because the sun hath etc.." .

  Yes, I always understood it to mean "swarthy" as opposed to black by race.

  The only thing I would be concerned about in using Watchtower is copyright infringement; we all know how the Borg loves a good lawsuit. But I do like the idea of retaining the "quotes" portion of the URL since that's how you are already known. :)

  I remember in the late 70s & early 80s there was a woman on PBS who did a yoga program. I asked my mom about it and she said that we shouldn't do yoga because you have to empty your mind to do it, and Satan could come along and enter your mind.

  I believe there are those whose auras resonate on a frequency similar to that of our own, and those are the people we are closest to in our lifetime, both as lovers and friends.

  But the idea of there being one specific person in the universe whose soul matches yours exactly, and that you would actually find this person and spend your life with them, seems logistically highly improbable.

  i have.. she's an old friend of the family - on my mother's side.

  she and my mum have been friends since before i was born.. madeline is an independent thinker, much to the ire of her congregation.

  a strong willed woman but very loyal to the 'truth'.

  hello.........this is a first for me- i've been reading some of your messages for some time now, and i must say you guys study your watchtower far better than i ever did.

  i'm still a part of the congregation (and an elder), but i have to say i agree with many of your criticisms of the organization.

  we've become just like the pharisees that jesus condemned............at our last assembly, the do and co warned against apostate material over and over again..........so i certainly think you're having a tremendous impact on their actions.

  Elders Threaten To Tow Elderly Sister's Car For Parking In Handicapped Area

  my mother told me that an 81 year old sister was told that if she was not legally handicapped and had the plate to prove it----the police could come into the parking lot and have her car towed!

  when she mentioned that there are more spaces available and not used and that she regularly transports another handicapped person that does not drive, they reiterated the same comments about it being against the law to park her car there and that she could get fined , ticketed and towed......so, she stayed home the next meeting.

  now, she's going to ask her "unbelieving, worldy" husband who is also in his 80's if he'd be willing to give her and her friend a ride, especially as the weather will get worse and her eyes are not very good to begin with.......interesting, huh?

  Well, jeez; if grocery stores can reserve a few extra spaces and request that they be saved for the elderly or for pregnant women, can't the KH do the same thing? I can't remember all the times we were asked to keep the back rows of seats at the hall available for families with young children; how about a local needs talk requesting that the members of the "spiritual paradise" keep some spaces open for the elderly folks in the congregation??

  Religious fanaticism is a great breeding ground for pettiness

  having been raised as a dub, as i look back to those days, i can't count the number of times issues were raised by the pettiest of things.

  buying a vehicle that was anything but a foor-door sedan - you know, the kind most suitable for service - could in fact start a whirl-wind of gossip - he's not putting "kingdom" interests first...they don't need another car - if they're that well off then they should be helping out a little more with our kingdom hall's expenses etc.. what are some of the most pettiest issues you have seen raised while you were a dub?.

  Gosh, yes, I remember both of those things. Somehow, though, it seemed to me that it was the young women buying 2-doors that got more dirty looks than the young men.
