  Loss of a Jehovah’s Witness who I considered a friend

  i have known a jehovah’s witness for approximately 15 years and i have considered her a friend although i know that jehovah’s witnesses cannot have friends who are not jehovah’s witnesses.

  approximately two years ago, i was going through a very difficult time and i asked my friend if we could have bible study.

  she said yes and we have been studying the bible since.

  The JW leadership blows so hot and cold.

  One CO came round years ago and told us to ditch all our cosy mag routes, people who just wanted the Awake and a nice chat and gave us a cuppa -

  Reason given was that it was an urgent life saving message we were delivering and needed to weed out these 'nice householders who were not making proper spiritual progress'...

  Few years later, totally opposite advice, make friends of our RV's , don't pressure them, Jesus wants all to be saved, call back on even those who just took a tract but showed very little interest..

  As a pioneer I suddenly realised ALL this advice was a total load of shite, purely designed to keep us all on our toes and busy and blinkered on the ministry!!!

  Your Rebellion = Watchtower Oxymoron.

  if you are an ex-witness, regardless of the reasons that you left, did you also rebel against your creator as well as the wtbts?

  or did you just feel that jw`s didn`t have the truth, but that you were quite happy to go on believing in god, albeit accepting that your idea of god was now somewhat different?.

  according to the watchtower, by leaving the jw`s, you have rebeled directly against god.

  According toFunk and Wagnalls Dictionary, apostasy:Desertion of ones faith,religion,party or principles.
  Or simply to go against what one formerly believed.
  The word apostate also can be used with other orginizations besides religion.
  Whether they be political or scholastic orginizations.

  
  So keeping the definition in mind, all JWs that were once members of another religion and have left it to become Jehovahs Witnesses can rightly be called APOSTATES.

  
  On page 36, In the book Reasoning from the Scriptures,it asks the question, Would faithful Christians welcome apostates into their presence, either personally or by reading their litterature?
  Interesting question because anyone that is allowing Jehovahs Witnesses that were once part of another religion into their home for a study is associating and learning from apostates.

  Great post - I'm going to use this on the jw's I speak to in the future!

  Attended JW funeral today

  never miss a marketing opportunity—even at a funeral.

  funerals aren’t the first place you’d expect marketing.

  but jehovah’s witnesses know how to turn every moment into an opportunity to share their message.. during funerals, they weave in their teachings of hope and resurrection, offering comfort and, at the same time, presenting their beliefs to attendees who may not be part of the faith.

  Yes JW funerals do not celebrate the life of the deceased, they just promote the jw brand to grieving relatives.

  They view it as a time they can blast the none jw's in attendance with a 'witness' - they are utterly pathetic and insensitive even in times of people's mourning.

  I was in the JW faith for many many decades, but the most sensitive and enjoyable funeral and wedding services I have ever heard were the ones performed in a 'worldly' environment...

  If the UN fails, what do JWs have prepared?

  i was listening to a podcast about the current geopolitical situation, apparently the un has gone so far off the reservation being controlled by and trying to align themselves with anti-west values, a number of countries is attempting to kick israel out of the un because it is defending itself against iran.. off course, many african nations, some middle eastern, china and russia and a few european nations are all in some amalgamated economic league.

  if the vote happens while biden is still president, it’s unlikely, given the election, the party is willing to throw their anti-semitic base under the bus and wouldn’t veto it, hence why these people are considering doing this now and china/russia would go along just to create some mayhem.

  the un weeks ago voted to hand over a significant part of jerusalem to an unspecified state of palestine, this likewise went unopposed by the biden-harris administration.. if this happens, given the outcome of the next election, the us will almost certainly have to abandon and disband the un.

  Reminds me of a CO in the 1980's relating an experience with glee about a manager of a Woolworths store having a bible study.

  At Christmas the Woolworths manager pulled off all the 'worldly' Xmas music/carols on the store PA and instead played back to back kingdom melodies.

  The audience listening to the CO broke into applause, but the whole thing made me sick.

  What would the JW's do if someone entered a convention and replaced their kingdom melodies with 'worldly tunes'...

  what you are about to watch is another leaked instalment from the recent annual meeting delivered by kenneth cook with the theme "help to tear down and build up" and highlights tge new take o disfellowshipping that will from now concentrate on major wrongdoing whereas minor wrongdoing will be dealt with kind and love.so the watchtower's at it again, rewriting the narrative like an old tv show that conveniently forgets a character's past.

  for decades, the organization has been the ultimate gatekeeper, quick to kick out members for even minor missteps—let's not forget how jehovah's witnesses have had to grovel and practically beg to be reinstated.

  That WT - I can remember the road I was in when we were placing that - I remember an old fossil clever clogs brother naming the the old fogies on the front cover to the field service group.

  Now he, along with EVERYONE on that WT cover is long dead - and still they have the cheek to say the end is coming VERY soon - deluded brainwashed idiots...🤦‍♂️
