  Can You Discern What The Society Is Really Saying?

  so much of the watchtower is written in "code".

  so much of the circuit and district overseers comments are spoken in "code".

  for example, you are not told directly that you shouldn't read any other publication but the society's, but you are asked, "how could anyone spiritual ever have the time to keep up with their bible-based reading of all the spiritual food that we must take in, and still have time to read "worldly" books?

  Amnesian you really read my mind on that priviledge part. How true. Every friggin time the KH needed to be cleaned that "priviledge" rant was shoved down our throats. I had never seen it being used with the men. One time I was so sick I had the flu and was still guilt tripped into raking leaves and cleaning up the old moldy cellar---I was so ticked off I went to the KH with a Brooklyn Dodgers t-shirt and payed no mind when everyone else started mumbling about my shirt, at one point I threatened to take it off and walk around only in my bra.

  some jehovahs witnesses just came to my house--and of course my latest strategy is to hide and let someone else answer the door, or not answer the door at all.

  well, my younger brother is home from his first semester at college and he just happened to be near the door when they came knocking... .

  katie and i are about to head out to the airport, and by 3 pm tomorrow afternoon will be happy husband and wonderful wife!

  we would almost certainly never have met each other if not for this forum, where we have both laughed and cried and healed, with and through all of you friends.

  the elders came over this morning as promised.

  he called before to explain why so as not to show up under false pretenses.

  he said yesterday when he called, he was with a service group so he said he was an "old friend" and wanted to come visit.

  Atkins - good or bad?

  i keep hearing good and bad about the atkins diet.

  i started it a month ago not really to lose weight, but, i had heard that atkins eliminates sluggishness during the day and insomnia at night.

  what was startling was the amount of energy i gained.

  I have done the Atkins plan on and off for 5 years and now I have chronic kidney problems because of it, in addition to having gained back twice the amount of weight I lost. I definitely do not recommend this way of eating at all.

  as many of you know, i'm divorced, have been for 2 years now, after a 13 year marriage.

  my ex and i get along pretty well, we're friends of a sort, and we have our kids' well being as our main priority in life.

  that's not the weird part..well, i suppose in some ways it is, but that may be a story for another post!.

  The Elders are coming over

  after seven years we finally got a call from an elder this morning.

  he wants to come over and talk to steve (he wouldn't talk to me or give me any message).

  this particular elder was from steve's old congregation in austin, texas.

  Hey Princess just do what I did when some JWs came over recently to visit my sick mom---offer coffee, tea, cocktails and christmas cookies!!! You shoulda seen how they gobbled it all up!!!
