Ding I think she is looking for anything to connect her to the past. Her Mom is in another state and has disowned her. Her Dad has remarried to a wonderful catholic gal yet he too is considering going back. I told her I felt sorry for the wife as the religion will put a big old wall up between them now. Been there done that. This gals mom is a witness but is looney. she talks to god and other invisible people in her home. apparently he comes to visit her..:) The brothers called her ex husband concerned about her mental being as she was pioneering at the time also. Anyway this girl is like I said mostly bedridden and has nothing else to look forward to so she is going back to fairytale land. But when she made the comment about having babies in the new world It rang a bell with me. So I dug the info up. I was surprised to see it I really thought they would hide it. The gal told me that they have softened up on a lot of things now..I almost spit my coffee out lol. The reason this is close to me and got my attention is ..well first of all my history is that I was a Catholic that became a witness when I married my not active witness husband. His mom and sister were witnesses. Time goes by and I leave the religion. Wrote a letter to the org. Disassociated myself. So after that I was marked by his family. (and him). He was the type to alway tell me how I was going to die because I wasn't a witness, him and his family looked down on worldly people they didn't like and proudly proclaimed that they would die soon..fast forward to my hubby and his death . His mom came to stay for a week with us to be with her son as he was dying. they would go on the back porch ( i was not invited) and talk for hours. Later hubby confessed to me that she told him that God will resurrect him and give him a new wife and make him forget all about me. That was just another of her evil tricks but this time it really hurt. Hubby was dying and I couldn't even spend his last days with him in love. We were married for over 40 years ..I stayed when I should have ran. but I loved him .After he passed was the first time in my life I felt like a human being. no one telling me I was going to die all the time no one telling me how the JW's were the only ones that mattered. Even tho he would say these kinds of things and made my life hell he on the other hand belonged to a model airplane club and had all kinds of buddies that were not witnesses. Such hypocrites the witnesses are. So glad they are out of my life. If this gal does go back it is good by to her..I can't even stand slight references to the religion and the ever so slight witnessing to me in order to "Get her time in ". I know it really hurt her as she thinks of me as her second mom. I have known her since her birth and took care of her quite a bit while her psycho JW mom was out messing around with all the guys in the neighborhood. But that's another story.. :) I just forward all the info to this gal so we shall see. I am taking the info to mean that the resurrected will not marry . I did see however that they refer to the fact that the ones going to heaven will not be male or female so they are really confusing in their explanations..they pass it off as things we dont' understand clearly yet..which means you won't lilke the answer so we will play dumb till you die :) Love to see what her and probably her dad come up with.though. It really hurt me to pop her bubble..not. :)

So by saying that the resurrected are like angels and they have no sex, they are like eunuchs, doesn't it sound here like they are talking about the general resurrected and not the ones going to heaven? I could swear this is what they taught long ago. That any resurrected would be of no sex but like the angels.? Luke 22:35.

I got this info from their site so it is current apparently. It says no marriage for those resurrected so how can they soften it? Going to look up Luke 20:34.Sadducees Question the Resurrection
(Matthew 22:23-33; Mark 12:18-27)
27Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, 28Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 29There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. 30And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. 31And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. 32Last of all the woman died also. 33Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. 37Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. 39Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. 40And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

I was mistaken on one point..it says the ones going to heaven will not be male or female but a new being. They did however say that those resurrected will not be able to marry..so why is that.? How do they explain that? If they can't marry doesn't that also mean they can have no kids if resurrected? I took it that way. So confusing. This gal also told me they no longer go door to door. Is that true worldwide? They still have it on their JW site that they do it. OK..Just Golden Girl aka Snoozy again.

“The children of this system of things marry and are given in marriage, but those who have been counted worthy of gaining that system of things and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. . . . But that the dead are raised up even Moses disclosed, in the account about the thornbush, when he calls Jehovah ‘the God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob.’ He is a God, not of the dead, but of the living, for they are all living to him.”—Luke 20:34-
WHY RESURRECTION HOLDS FORTH NO PROMISE OF MARRIAGEOn the basis of Jesus’ answer to the Sadducees, some may be disturbed about his saying that there will be no marrying among those raised from the dead. They may even think that without marriage the resurrection is something undesirable, that it would not benefit them.
However, when reasoning on Jesus’ reply, we do well to remember that we are imperfect. Our likes and dislikes are largely conditioned by the things to which we have become accustomed. So no one really has any basis for being sure that he would not like the future provisions that God will make for the resurrected ones. Then, too, not all the details have been provided. This has really been a kindness on God’s part. Why, as imperfect humans, we might at first react unfavorably to things that would actually fill our life with joy in a perfect state. Such details therefore might be beyond our present ability to receive. Christ Jesus showed awareness and consideration of the limitations of imperfect humans, as evident from what he said to his disciples on one occasion: “I have many things yet to say to you, but you are not able to bear them at present.”—John 16:12.

Was talking with a gal that is most likely going back to the religion after 20 or 30 years. We got into a discussion about having babies after "Armageddon ". She was talking about being normal ( she is practically bedridden but only in her 50's.) and having kids in the new world after a resurrection. Is that what they teach now? I could swear when I was going way back when they taught that if you are resurrected you won't be able to have children but will be like a Eunuch..meaning you will be neither sex. That the act of the resurrection makes you not able to have children . Like being exposed to radiation or something. Is there a site I can still go to that will have the older information and not the new edited for convenience purposes editions? SNOOZY..An oldie but a goodie :)

Been a long time since I was on here..I came in touch with a old friend that is bedridden now and she is only in her early 50's. She was raised a witness and left in her teens. Her mom and dad were both disfellowshipped then also. that was many years ago. Anyway she is kind of strange and was always hyper. She saw me as her second mom. Now we are in touch again and she has had a few medical emergencies., she has once again "Found Jehovah" and is a little bit of a fruitcake. she and her dad , who is still disfellowshipped, were talking she said and said how wonderful it would be if "I also came back"...NO NO NO Never!!! lol. Anyway she has started sending me long long messages on my phone and now she is sending Watchtower links to my personal messages in my e mail. I value her friendship as I have known her since she was born but I can't handle all the Jehovah talk and am going to have to say something. thing is she is on so many meds her brain isn't there half the time..
Also,
When hubby was dying from cancer his mom came and stayed a week with us and made my life so miserable. I was already sad because hubby was dying but she would take him on the back porch and they would stay out there for hours talking. (she is a diehard witness). So if I went out to join them they shut up and made excuses to go inside. After she left hubby told me that she said when he died that Jehovah would give him a new wife and make him forget all about me. I hated her..This after spending years going back and forth helping her every weekend to do her chores. Time that hubby and I could have had together. I would cut the grass while they sat on the porch and laughed at me. Hubby told me it was because I kept cutting the same spot over and over but what they didn't know was I was doing that because there were huge clumps I was afraid his elderly mom would trip over walking in the year as she was vision impaired ..Anyway he passed away on Feb 5,2003. My life has moved on..That's my updates and I want nothing to do with anything connected to the religion..Now I just have to find a way to either tell this girl or just ghost her..thinking I may do the latter. She is to the point of being fanatical if you know what I mean..I went thru so much hell with hubby and his family that just the word Jehovah witness makes my skin crawl..I was tolerant long enough, no more. -

Is this still their view about "Those resurrected"?
by Snoozy indo the jw's still teach that those resurrected will not marry and be without a sex?
(eunich).
can't help but think that it is the same with those hit with radiation during a bombing.. .

Sounds mixed up to me..lol. Angels had no sex but they still lusted and had sex with what body part? So apparently they took the body of men to do their dirty work :) My thoughts were always that a big bomb would go off and radiation would wipe most men off the earth . The few remaining would start a Paradise kind of earth as all would eventually be fresh again. And thus history would continue to repeat itself. rying to figure out the resurrection part still ;) Course if it never happens who you gonna sue? :)

Well I have been out since 1975 ( 14 years in) and have never looked back. My hubby was a JW ( active and inactive) as was his active mom and sister. Later his dad joined and his sister got married to a JW. Hubby got cancer in 2002 and died 6 months later. his JW mom came to stay for a week with him before he died as we did not live close and she was elderly. She would take him on the back porch for hours and they would talk..I am sure it was all religion. The minute I went to join them they would clam up or go inside leaving me alone. Well I put up with it because hubby was so sick. After she left he told me again how I would die if I didn't come back..something that was a daily thing for the last few years. He had been retired for 9 months when he got the diagnosis. Our retirement plans were gone. I was so depressed and it was a chore to get out of bed. His mom had convinced him when he was retiring that it would be silly to have me get his pension after he died as i would probably die first and he was so healthy. His dad had done that also. (he died first also so she got nothing) thus he left me out so he could get the bigger pension. I would have nothing after he died. (As it turned out I had 6 years to SS and I was able to collect his pension for 3 more years after he died). I couldn't talk him out of it so I gave in and signed the form that it was ok..sadly. Little did we know in 6 months he would find out he only had 6 months to live.. So after she leaves he informs me that his mom's pep talk was "Don't worry son, god will make you forget her and find you a new wife after armageddon. ".. I am thinking, is this a new teaching? I was under the impression that once you died there was no more chance of marriage..the bible called them like eunichs and it was explained it was because of the resurrection process.. I couldn't talk to him anymore. He went into his own little world till he passed away. The witnesses visited him once when alive and sent a mostly deaf older in his 80's brother to study with him. Once I was listening to him talk to my hubby about the daily inspiration book about a woman's monthly cycle and the reason for it..I almost broke out laughing ..this is what my hubby needed while on his death bed? Idiots..So when he died they came and gave me their condolences..I asked them to say a prayer and they said ;What for?. I had no answer..they left.
to add to the story when I ws a witness I observed many wrong things..including child abuse. when I was tired of it all I wrote my resignation letter and I told them all..they said if I ever wanted to come back I would be welcome. so forward years later and I write them asking for a copy of the letter ..they refused and said it was their property now and would not even send a copy. I am sure it was because of it's contents. i thought about getting a lawyer but figured it was all over and just forget it. I did. But what stays with me now is I still think sometimes how could my Mil be so cruel to tell my hubby something like that. I had devoted my life to him and the kids .I was the one there for him when he was sick , out of work, whatever. it really hurt me. the sad part is you have no idea how much they have affected your life..how many times you will suddelnly remember things said or done to hurt you..teachings that were cruel and made you think that anyone not a JW was evil..the teachings still enter your thinking and now some of it actually makes me sick. They truly become desensitized to the evilness of their teachings. That's the scary part of the religion. How else can you explain my JW MIL's statements..When all the exposing of the JW pedophiles came out and the JW's denied it she saw the program about it on TV..her comments were that it wasn't true because she didn't know any in the religion..well she actually did she just didn't know it.. the brothers knew also, but they weren't talking..the org knew also, but they also weren't talking. So much for a loving caring religion..Now I have reunited with the daughter of one of the witnesses I used to be freinds with. she left for a while but I heard she went back. Her daughter lives here and she lives in California and she refuses to talk to her daughter . She has dementia and thinks her daughter is the devil. She talks to people that aren't there and the witnesses there have all but abandoned her as looney toons. anyway her daughter used to spend a lot of time at my house when she was a baby and growing up. She loved it there. now forward 20 odd years later and we reunited. She still believes the witnesses are right and I tried at first to talk her out of it since she doesn't go to meetings etc. The thing is when you are raised in a religion from birth it is hard to believe that your parents would teach you something that isn't true, so you continue to feel guilty for not going the rest of your life. Well she is now gravely ill. She is only in her early 50's but has severe COPD and now heart problems. She is in the hospital right now. We have grown very close in the last few months and I love her dearly. Even tho she still believes and I don't we can work around it. She accepts who I am as I do her..It can be done. I am so sorry that I most likely will lose this good friend soon and sadness is with me a lot. I try praying to a god but being a witness practically ruined any belief in a god that I could have. I do try tho..and I feel sometimes he may be there listening. Thanks fo rletting me vent..thankfully I don't feel the need often but it is nice to have a place to let it out and know that the people here totally understand what we go thru..hugs to all..Kathy O
