and i hope he and the mrs are ok. the area he lives in go hit with alot of snow last week and along with the snow there were a lot of power outages.

We too got hit but with tornados and high winds..many people were without power..thankfully I wasn't one of them. Tis the season so I am sure there are more storms to come..

picture the situation:.
a jw sister, let's call her marjorie, has a non jw father who died.
she arranges for an elder to take the funeral at a crematorium and marjorie's non-jw husband pays for a reception at a pub afterwards.. marjorie has a disassociated son.
When my hubby died (a witness) they agreed to let his memorial be at the KH..I (dissasociated) and several other family members that are no longer JW's went.
BUT..when my JW MIL and FIL had a surprise anniversary party held in a public reception hall I was told I could not come because I may stumble someone..party was mixed JW's and non JW's..

This was concerning Russell before he was a witness..he had given up finding the "Truth about God"..he decided to try and help people financially since he couldn't find the truth about God to help them spiritually...

well i guess i don't keep up on the jw news like i should...... in talking with my friend that has been disfellowshipped about the religion and it's falsehoods (lies)..she stated that the jw's are saying that the witnesses claimed beforehand that we would have a black muslim as president (they claim obama is) and it would be a sign of the nearing of armageddon..so when obama got to be predisent they see this as a fulfillment of this prophecy of theirs..so they must be the right religion.... help!

designs, I agree, just wanted to see if anyone else heard anything like that. I need to get her to elaborate on it. As a former witness I do think she is affected mentally by it all. She was one that really suffered by her JW Mom..

I just also wanted to add that since our last meet up she has taken all her literature and left it on the Kingdom Hall front porch..Her and her girlfriend waited until everyone came out to see what they did. She said the witnesses were going through the boxes like a bunch of vultures..
I told her she could have sold them on E Bay as she hasd a lot of the older publications..
