He might want to get that lawyer to skim his next writing project. Wouldn't want to commit libel, or anything...

The JW message always resonates during times when there is a lot of uncertainty, fear, and stress. Economic concerns, political strife, and a war that could escalate any day are going to make people very anxious. And when someone points out how "the Bible predicted these exacts times," they find an audience that is suddenly very receptive.
That gives them the time to assimilate that person, who doesn't realize the trap has closed around them until it's too late.
Edit to add: I guess for the period from 2016 to 2021, the political uncertainty in the USA and the pandemic that followed made a big difference.

Chinapomo: Several times many people, and I mean his supporters, have told him to create shorter content. He replied by saying that his content is as long as it needs to be.
If he had listened to them, he would not have to buy followers. Short content is king on YouTube. Remember that YT is the ultimate site for "channel-surfing." Watch a ten-minute video, then watch a 15-minute video, then a 5-minute clip, etc. If you really enjoy a creator's work, you might sit through a 20-30 minute video. I think some creators are able to put out longer content because they do so on a slower schedule. If you do documentary-style videos, then one 40-60 minute video every 30-60 days works just fine.
The more frequently you put out content, the shorter it should be, or you risk burning out your audience. His short videos were fine. But I can't imagine why anyone would sit through two or three days of three+ hour videos trying to cover every point in every talk in a convention. No wonder he seems so irritable all the time.

Did he ever hang the 100k plaque on the wall? Bought or not, subscriber numbers tend to impress people browsing YT, and putting the plaque on display is something many YouTubers do. It has much more effect than a JW.org picture, I bet.
As for Patreon, those numbers will fluctuate from time-to-time, but the overall trend is a very sharp decrease. And I think it is entirely driven by people who --even if they still like the work he does-- cannot bring themselves to financially support him after learning about what he's done, his unrepentant attitude towards it, and how he continues to behave. I guess some people will be drawn in by his publicized affection for his children, but many will understand the damage he is doing to them by being such a bad husband. The number of supporters who are 'okay' with what he has shown himself to be must be very few, and even those will eventually realize they cannot defend him.

Not just the pipeline, the general push to restrict oil use led to changes in the way many refineries here are used. Some were effectively shut down, others are refining crude for different uses, and would need to be prepped to refine it into gasoline again. The administration has asked them to start producing more gasoline ASAP, while making clear that its desire to shut them down in the long run has not diminished.
So the oil industry is being asked to spend a lot of money so the country can get cheaper gas... and then they'll get the rug pulled out from under their feet. I think the oil company executives are enjoying telling Biden that they won't do it, knowing that he will bear the brunt of the electorate's anger. What can he do? Demonize them? He's already done that, and besides... they are oil industry executives! Calling them greedy monsters is almost a compliment. DeSantis will not lack for an excess of campaign funds in 2023/24, that much is for sure.

It's also what I'd expect from a raging narcissist who will fool himself into believing that those are legitimate numbers, and then will unironically puff out his chest and strut around as if he owns the place. He has mentioned his status before, and I think it means everything to him. If it turns out that at least some part of it is fake, that would be icing on the cake.

Clinton's campaign had it right when they said "it's the economy, stupid!" And there is one other thing to remember- the President always gets credit or blame for what happens during his watch. It doesn't matter how much he can or cannot influence things or whether or not he or his predecessor had a larger effect. The one in the White House now is the one who has to take the beating or gets to bask in the glory.
I think Biden's team has forgotten this, because they keep trying to find someone else to blame for problems that they could be trying to fix, but don't always want to. The left wing of the party wants fuel costs to go up, because they think it will move the country towards alternative fuels more quickly. But the cost of gas will need to increase by a massive amount in order to make an EV purchase viable for many Americans... who will then not be able to afford that EV after spending all of their savings on gas.
The war in Ukraine is having a significant effect on gas prices, but that is in part because we have reduced our own production so much. And any benefit the administration gains from having Russia as a villain is offset by the fear and concern that come from a possible war in Europe, this time against a desperate enemy who has more nukes than we can count, and perhaps a willingness to use them. If you think high prices and food shortages are a possibility now, just wait until Uncle Vlad irradiates a quarter of the world's fertile soil from his deathbed.
I didn't feel concerned when Biden/Harris won. I figured Biden would take the Clinton route and "talk liberal yet walk moderate" and keep things moving along. But he's being managed by people who want to do the right thing but are overwhelmed, or want to do the wrong thing and are proving quite capable. Either way, we still have more than two years of an administration whose motto is "hold my beer." We're right back in the mid-70s.

Brilliant idea: buy a bunch of YouTube followers and then gradually diminish their numbers by being an obnoxious twat in the comments all the time.

Were the Watergate hearings also just political theater?
How about the impeachment of Bill Clinton?I couldn't say about Watergate, I was too young to notice or care.
I do think the impeachment of Clinton was political theatre. It went nowhere and people seemed tired of it before long. In the end, he was impeached for lying while being investigated in pursuit of an impeachment, which sounds just as ridiculous as it ended up being.

I don't like him as a person, which is not unusual for politics. I voted for Clinton in 2016 because I didn't think Trump was serious about being President. But he did a better job than I expected, especially with the economy. If not for the pandemic, he likely would have coasted to a win in 2020. I voted for him in 2020.
That said, while I don't think he conspired to stage a coup, his actions after the election were embarrassing. He should have clearly stated, as many times as needed, that the rioters had to stop and let the machinery of government do its job. But his ego is too big and he pushed the 'stolen election' narrative at the worst time. I'd be more satisfied with his loss if the current administration wasn't such a disaster, but I think the party needs to move on from him.
But yes, I think the hearings are just political theatre, and I do think they are timed in the hopes of keeping it in the public eye all the way through to the midterms if possible, because the current administration has been a disaster. But it could be effective, since the best hope for the Democrats right now would be for Trump to keep the GOP split and fighting with itself over control of the party.
