by lastmanstanding inrecently, in the past few months, and this only applies to in dubs who might have taken note, the watchtower study edition made a change.
it mentioned the “warning work” where dubs are going to march around and proclaim everyone is going to die.. anyway, this article said it was now only a possibility, not a sure thing.. i can’t find it.
did watchtology change it already?.

WATCHTOWER's RTO (Remote translation offices) like this one are million dollar luxury locations
by Terry inmore than 60 percent of our full-time translation teams work, not at branch offices, but at remote translation offices (rto).
why is this arrangement beneficial?
what equipment do translators need in order to work effectively at an rto?

I wonder if any translation work every actually happened there?
They probably have a computer set up for remote access, and some poor translator connects to it from his apartment in some seedy part of town, and does the translating work all day and gets paid with the occasional pat-on-the-back.
Not that I'm cynical or anything...

Maybe not if money is tight? (or just that you're a cheap freeloader)
Money might be tight, if you are paying for an apartment and still need to provide for the family that you have agreed to separate from. You might also need some extra cash in case you run into any eligible singles who might agree to go out for lunch and a couple of drinks. Or if you can't suppress the urge to rent a girlfriend for a week or two.
All this while your financial support base keeps shrinking, for reasons that you just can't seem to grasp. Don't they understand what the life of a professional activist is like???

Interesting. Most are "discard," but some are "destroy." Sounds just a bit paranoid.

The forum software scales images down, you are better off posting a link.

I'll be a bit surprised if he doesn't file a civil action against Dr. Das, though not entirely. A bit, because the suits are not filed with any expectation that there will be a response; he wants to claim that his detractors wouldn't even bother to fight the charges. But not entirely, because it's possible that Dr. Das would retain counsel and respond, and that would mess up the ploy quite a bit. I don't believe that Evans wants to be questioned as part of any legal action, because his confession video exists, and it would require him to either admit to the court that he committed a criminal offense, or deny it and weaken his credibility significantly.
And that latter part makes it particularly amusing when he tries to make it seem as if Kim has painted herself into a corner with her refusal to give him info on her legal career.

Looks like quite a few people had him figured out even back then.

I think that taking that step would be an all-or-nothing gamble. The WTS has come back from a lot of missteps, but changing the message from "join us while there is time" to "it is too late now" is unambiguously a statement that the end is upon us. How long could individuals preach that before it starts to become extremely uncomfortable and awkward?
You don't recover from a mistake like that.

Thanks for the link to that Kiwi Farms thread, LMsA. I laughed out loud at this line in the first post:
As for why he picked the name "John"... well, you'll see.

His skill at misdirection was clear back then, too.
Apparently the fact that I am giving away a copy of Crisis of Conscience in a competition on YouTube makes me "toxic," a "liability" and "bad for business."
He then quotes Marc's letter, which tells a different story. The descriptions of him as toxic, a liability, and bad for business have to do with his attempts to sell the book in violation of the owner's copyright. This, Marc writes, would reflect poorly on AAWA due to its association with him. He implied that doing this on his YouTube channel was a way to gain more subscribers- ie, a way to further monetize an action that was in violation of copyright.
But, by making the claim that it's only because of a giveaway, Evans tries to poison the well and twist Marc's words. This appears to be one of his primary MOs, to use a strawman to reinterpret a person's words to suit his claims, and then attack the misconstrued statements. This does not seem to be due to confusion- it looks deliberate. It justifies Marc's warning about him.
